I think what helped me was to tell myself that even if there's pain after, it will be pain of recovery, which no matter what is better than pain with no end.

The doctors and nurses will take great care of you - and trust me, by the time the morning arrives you will just be looking forward to the other side and the nerves will be gone.

You got this! Speedy recovery ahead

Hey, I'm doing ok thank you, stitches are near enough healed, only sting a little bit when my ibs plays up, I still have soreness from my fissure but it's still open so I guess that's normal, have had the surgery?

Maybe I can just live with it i keep talking myself out of surgery because it's the unknown

I was the same, I had my fissure for just under 3 years, tried Botox twice, every ointment and natural ointment possible! My painful spasms went but had constant sorness every time I went to the toilet and it kept re-tearing, I have a phobia of operations I won't even get put to sleep lol but I'm glad I have had it done, recovery wasn't as bad as I thought it really wasn't, my first bowel movement after I was dreading got myself into a state but there was hardly any pain! It's been just over 3 weeks now and my stitches have dissolved and the incision site has healed well, now I just have to wait and pray that the fissure heals! But honestly after that amount of time of you haven't healed it very unlikely you are going to x

No it's only really sore when going to the toilet and that depends on my bowel movement and if my ibs plays up. Nothing like passing glass any more, I even had a re-tear just a week after the LIS and it only hurt for the day and started to heal straight away.
