Lecia,
Thanks, Everyone is doing OK, it was an eventful night. Today they decide if the car is totaled.
We are just happy no one got hurt and are enjoying their visit. The boys are always happy to be together. They like to play some games, chess, risk and others and just sit around together and talk. I think it is good for Jared to have them come and get his mind on something else.
Our grandbaby is so beautiful, we love seeing her. She likes our dog and loves to play with him, until he starts chasing her and nipping at her little butt!
I like your graduation picture, is that with your Mom? You have such nice hair. You look pretty then as you do now.

Jo, I'm so sorry about the accident, thank God no-one was hurt, and your little grandaughter didnt even notice. What a horrible time you're having at the moment. Its just not fair. You certainly deserve some good luck to come your way now. Image Image

Thanks Val,
How are you doing? Any improvements? I know you have been in a lot of pain. Hope things are getting better for you. You deserve some luck also! Life is not always fair I guess.

Thanks Jo,
no, I'm still laid flat out. cant sit/stand for longer than a few minutes at a time, and cant do anything much with my left arm. I could be like it a long time too, as its a 5 month wait for the operation - and I'm not on the waiting list yet!!
How is Jared doing? I hope he feels better.

Val,
Sorry :( it isn't getting any better. That is crazy it takes so long. What are people to do when there is such pain? I can't believe they make you wait so long!
Jared is feeling somewhat better. We are thinking of starting his treatment in October which will probably make him feel terrible like he has the flu for 48 weeks, possibly up to 1 1/2 years. At 12 weeks of treatment, they are hopeful to know if it may work, if not they will discontinue. I guess we are trying to enjoy this time since he is feeling better for a bit!

Wow-I just shake my head when I read how long it takes for both Val to get the help she needs and how long it will take for Jared to feel better once he goes through the treatment. It makes me so very sad to hear. We just found out this week that the 8 year old son of our friends has muscular dystrophy-the kind that is fatal and he won't be able to walk by the time he is 10. It just breaks my heart to think of for all of them. So much sadness, it seems everyone has too much.

Jo, I'm glad Jared is feeling a bit better and you can all enjoy life at the moment. I feel so sad for what you have to go through and I pray that the treatment works for him and doesn't make him feel too ill.
Lecia, my friends little boy has that too. He's the same age as Kris and she found out he had it when he was six, and he was running about strangely. He's in a wheelchair now. Its a terrible thing for a child to have, but maybe even worse for the parents to have to watch. :(
