Today I was in for an exam when I was put under. I had an ultrasound and a rectoscopi. The CRS saw scar tissue from the fissure and there was two superficial cracks togehter with red irritation. This makes my inner muscle to spasm sometimes. My big fissure has not returned.
The ultraound revealed that maybe a little bit of my outher muscle was damaged because of the fistula surgery. My inner muscle was stronger at 3 o`clock than 9 o`clock. Strange since it was at 3 o`clock I had partitial LIS... The CRS said that maybe something is wrong here.. He also saw a possible internal intussusception but was not sure. It could be nothing but I need another test at a hospital at OSLO to rule this out. The test is defecogram (a test that evaluates bowel control).
I was shocked by this and realy hope that is not my case....
Will also have an anal manometry test to check my presure for a possible second LIS. The CRS said that sometimes the muscle startes to spasm again even after LIS. I didn`t think that was possible IF enough muscle fibers were cut.
CRS said to use a water enema after a BM to clean out completly. This will help against the irritation inside. This I know helps since I did it for a while.
As a last resort I was offered a colostomy. That is reversible and not permanent and I can have it the rest of my life if I want to...
Thinking about it it is crazy.. It started out as a little tear in my anus and I may end of with a colostomy...If I only could turn back time....
There is no innflammation present just irritation.

sorry lars, i can't believe this is happening to you!
just goes to show, we'll never be able to let our guards down. just when you think it's out of your life it'll come back to haunt you. lars, i hope you find some relief aside from colostomy. i'd hate to have that at any age but especially young and single!!!

Lars, I'm so sorry to hear that :( So when do you go to Oslo to get your evaluation? It sounds like you have a lot of options. Do you know which way you are currently leaning toward?

Maybe something good will come out of the Oslo evaluation. Let's hope so, SM.

Thanks all :)
A colostmy is not fun but I will be pain and symptoms free then and can do whatever I want. Geeting a girlfriend with a colostomy is impossible I think but living a life on my own without my own family is something I have come to terms with. There is so much else to life :)
On friday I will go to the hospital to learn something called Anal / rectal Irrigation.
For those who have bowel problems, anal irrigation can make it easier to empty your bowels effectively and securely. If used on a regular basis, anal irrigation can help prevent constipation and faecal incontinence. An anal irrigation system will contain everything you need to irrigate your bowels. An anal irrigation system will usually consist of a control unit with a pump, a water bag and a rectal catheter. These systems can be very flexible; for example, if you are going away from home for several hours you can judge exactly when to use the equipment and it is also convenient to pack and bring with you. Your health care professional can advise whether this form of bowel management is suitable for you.
This is nothing dangerous and adictive and I think it will help me. I am in much better shape when my bowels are empty and there is no BM down there irritating the irritation. I will learn to have a BM every 2-3 day because of this instead of 1-3 each day.
No date for the OSLO trip yet but I hope before summer. Ugh I hope I don`t have that. Elderly people and porn stars gets something like this not a tight ass I hope :)

Don't give up on the idea of a gf and a family, SM. There are many people who have Crohn's that have had colostomies and have SO's. One of my friends in exercise class has a husband who has one, and they have a daughter who just graduated from college. Another of my husband's friends has one also, and he is married and has 2 children and several grandchildren. Anything is possible. Here's hoping the best for you, buddy! Keep us posted and let us know what you decide upon, so we can tell Dwight and then he (and we) can pray for you!!

Nice Lars, hopefully the rectal irrigation technique helps some!
I agree with Cheryl, there are actually lots of people (including young people) with colostomies out there -- you just would never know it by looking since they pretty much look like anyone else :) Obviously it's not something you'd want to unless you have to, but please don't think of it as the end of your days meeting women Image
If you're considering a colostomy anyway, that would make a second LIS a pretty attractive option right? Even if there's some kind of complication from the second LIS, you could still have the colostomy as a backup option. I know this doesn't carry much weight coming from a dude who is scared of my first LIS, but you've been through so much more, I just hope you can find some way of making it manageable.
