Im sorry to hear this...many say that Botox was the road to healing....
so when your Doctors perform Botox - they do not talk about time frames- like it can take years but eventually get better...on reddit some members share their proctologists reassurance that it will take years in some cases.....

lately I found calming to just chat about it with whats up Meta AI.....

I have a preferred colorectal surgeon. They are happy to repeat the botox procedures, but have made it clear they don't expect it to be a cure at this point.
She was very nice about it, but referred me to the pain specialist and pelvic floor physio stating there's not much else she can do medically/diagnostically. Which is difficult to hear since I still have the same pain, but I understand her point.
She can't see any physiological issue - There's no fissure. There's noting more to treat, but she's happy to repeat the botox since there's really no risk and it does provide some relief. But it's short-term, expensive...not ideal.

There's been no permanent change, so I think she's being realistic, this isn't just a matter of time.

As I said originally, I've tried pain specialist, physio, CRS - There's not really much left to do, so it's just something I live with. Sometimes it doesn't seem worth it and there's probably a point as I get older it'll be too much.
Appreciate the posts on here - There's no one IRL that gets it.

Fred55 wrote:That sucks! I had a manometry test and even that was normal! But I don't buy that all this pain I'm experiencing isn't caused by anything! The thing is we have a broke health care system that tests, appointments and second oponion specialists takes for ages and at some point one might lose the drive and learn to suck it up! But it ain't good at all! There was a time I was suspecting my prostate might be the culprit! Ive thought about any possible cause which has took a significant mental toll on me especially with all the horrible things you read on the internet! I'm tired of self diagnosis!

Unfortunately no improvement. I had another round of botox in mid-September, but I haven't found that particularly effective. Actually quite disappointing as I thought I could at least rely on the short-term, but reoccurring help. Perhaps diminishing returns each time.

I do struggle with IBS/incomplete evacuation and I find I often have to push a bit to get things moving. Not strain a lot, but definitely a push. My pelvic floor is hypertonic and I guess it's just a circle...I push, which further strains the muscles and the burning pain is the result.
I've tried movicol (I think that's our version of miralax) but I get very bloated and uncomfortable. My stool seems to be soft usually, albeit thin, so I don't feel that's the problem solely.

Some sort of mix between the IBS and pelvic floor tightness that I can't make inroads with. Can't seem to find anything else to try

Hello OZ
i have been suffering now like you of the same annoying symptom- incomplete evacuation and like always need to push , strain . otherwise nothing is moving...
next week im going for the confirmation of partial rectal mucosal prolapse
i have a bulge that bulge on each BM and then retracts
like here in those photos

i do not know if your doctor ruled it out or if you notice that when going nr "2
but i would like to know what your take is on that
thks

Hello all,

OzGanz it's like your posts were written by myself. I have the exact same symptoms: the incomplete evacuation, burning skin sensation accompanied by muscle pain. Mine is worse when I walk. I had botox back in july and it made a huge difference. Just like you said, not so much with bms and the skin burning, but I could walk and sit with no pain. Now im the same as before.

I think the PT sessions help with the hypertonic floor...but they irritate the skin (I also have a bunch of hypertrophied papillae and it really messes them up). So it ends up being counter productive...

As for the incomplete evacuation, I think it has a lot to do with how soft we need to keep our stools. Like, I don't think it's pathological, just that having stools that are so, so soft...some of it is bound to stay behind, and that wouldnt bother a normal person, but for us it's very uncomfortable and aggravates the skin. What i do and i find helpful, is I perform a sort of mini lavative if there is something stuck. I use a syringe (with no needle) to insert just a tiny bit of warm water (I'm talking like 2ml), then i sit on the toilet again and kind of gently punch the muscles around my coccix, this makes the sphincter relax, and give just a little push, then you're 100% done and clean.

The coccix punching sounds crazy but it's a game changer, I also do it if I'm walking and it starts to hurt. I recommend you try it, when you find the spot, you can actually FEEL your sphincter relax. It lasts a few seconds.

Hope you're doing better, update us if you can!
