Because of my issues with exercising and being nervous causing more frequent BMs, I have been told to meet with a GI. The GI told me to get the following tests: Blood work, MRI enterography, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy (had one a year ago, but want to double check) and a video capsule of the small intestines. Does it seem like a lot to you?
She said it could be IBS, but in her experience, IBS ends up being IBD a lot of the time down the road. She is particularly looking at Celiac Disease and Crohns. Apparently, blood work is good for Celiac diagnosis and MRI, endoscopy and video capsule for Crohns, which she said is hard to find because of it being possibly present anywhere in the GI tract.
They want to be sure that I don't have an underlying issue that causes future fissures before they cut the muscle, as you can only cut it so many times...
It just seems like a lot, but I guess is rather be on the safe side.
Has anyone else done this?
