I had Fissurotomy/ectomy and LIS a little under a week ago and was sent home with no real instruction on how to cope plus I didn't get any real pain relief (except Ibuprofen), just told to take regular analgesics (paracetamol) which did absolutely nothing, and I can tell you that the pain is off the scale at times, the docs and *most* CRS' have no clue what rectal pain is really like, a truly frightening thought!
