A little blood is n othing to get concerned over. I had that occasionally even after my LIS and I was "healed."
Just keep up with what you are doing, don't get complacent. You won't really be out of the woods for some time to come, even if your pain vanishes...

One of the CRS didn't seem too concerned about blood. I think the tub baths are more helpful than the Sitz baths.

Oh yeah Hoos , long time is ahead of you- fissure needs 8-12 weeks
just to close, and than a year to heal completely , so be careful and
don't stray from your regiment ever. Some small setbacks can happen , but the overall trend is froward -so just be patient and take good care of yourself.
good luck !!!

Hoosier,
Glad to hear you are feeling "almost" normal. Remember that you will have a few steps forward and maybe a step back. Try not to be discouragd if that happens, keep doing the positive changes that are helping you and you will feel better!
Fiber is a good thing! Happy Image that it is helping you.

Kim is right, dont be skunnered by a little blood :)
I think it is great you are having less pain with BM, Sounds like you are on the right track now !
The advice on this thread is very important, its very easy to let things slip when one feels better !
Goodluck
God bless :tinky:

Thought I would drop in and give an update. My pain during BM is still significantly less then before. Also, the aftermath of my BM is a lot less painless for the most part. However, my fissure is one heck of a bleeder. Which does play a mental game on me. If it wasn't for the bleeding, I would be doing flips of joy right now.

Its good that your pain has decreased. I would just reiterate what Fissulyna said above. don't stray from your regiment ever. Do whatever it takes to keep stools soft. If you CRS says that he wants to see you after a month. However healed you may feel please dont miss the appointment. If the fissure keeps on opening then it becomes chronic. Hope you heal soon..

Yes, dear Hoos- no flips yet please LOL - stay on your diet and all -fissures are hard to kill - bleeding or not, less pain or not - if you had no pain or bleeding for 6 months , than yes - little flips are OK - after a year you can truly celebrate !
All the best !

No ointment! High fiber and hot baths. Seems to be working.
