Thanks, Kim, I am doing just that. The butter pecan got NOTHING on the rich dark chocolate though :) :)

Hey Chen, how are you feeling in general? I felt like 98% today..can't believe the surgery was 4 weeks ago today..seems like "forever" ago. I'm getting super pumped about this long tailgating/college football/casino weekend..working on my mocktail concoctions as we speak (er..write -lol).
The Flagyl didn't bother me at all other than those slight headaches the first 2 days. I am thrilled about that.
Hope all is well.

Hey Sidra,
That's great to hear! I was kind of wondering what happened when your last post was "I just started Flagyl" and then you went quiet :) I'm looking forward to the game this Saturday, too, for once we actually have a Mizzou game on TV here in Cali. Thank you ESPN! I'm probably going to miss the first half, though, as I scheduled a car seat safety inspection for the exact time the game starts, DOH! Image Twins are due in a few weeks and it was the only appointment I could get. Priorities first, though, of course. I fully expect to come back from the appointment, turn on the tube, and see the Tigers up by at least 3 TDs! Image Image
I'm doing alright, so far I've had relatively smooth poops, much better than 2 weeks ago. It still sucks when I have to go a few times in a row, but compared to the agony I was in weeks ago, this is infinitely more manageable. I'm actually supposed to be at a follow-up CRS appointment right now, but I rescheduled it for a week from today because of the recent improvements, and figured I'd use the extra time to see if I'm actually making progress or if the fissure is just faking me out. I'm still dropping weight which is a concern to me even though the fissure symptoms are less severe now.
So what've you got going on for mocktails? Are we thinking more like O'Douls or more along the lines of virgin mai tai's and margaritas? The few times I've been *forced* to drink mocktails, I've found virgin mojitos to be pretty acceptable, the minty flavor from the leaves give me that placebo buzz. And of course daiquiris too, but being a dude I don't know if I'd have the cajones to be seen sipping on one at a football game :) Hopefully the LIS and fissure won't stop you from enjoying the BBQ, hot dogs and other stuff at the tailgate!
Have fun in St. Louis, I haven't been back to Missouri since I left 21 years ago, but my wife and I have been thinking about popping back there for a long weekend sometime to check out my childhood stomping grounds and see how they hold up against my fond memories. Part of wants to go see the place again, but part of me wonders if it's best left the idyllic way my mind remembers it...

Well, make sure you tivo the game so you can catch up! Thanks for the ideas on the mocktails, especially the mint and the placebo buzz, I'll have to try that out, how does that work? I'm not much of a beer drinker, but am actually considering a non-alcoholic beer to fool myself, don't know if virgin margs or anything else will really cut it, and I don't really like stuff that's too sweet..I was actually wondering if rum extract had rum in it (will look it up) and thought of adding that to a diet coke with lime flavor and a lime?
Glad you're feeling better! I'm still taking Miralax every night and that's it (other than the antibiotic)..I still can't believe that I feel this good, and am trying not to worry about a relapse.
oh yeah and uh, GO ILLINI!! lol

You're welcome, Tabsterabster! Image

You guys are hysterical!

Yes Tabby try the fibersure! I so love it...even had sweets and fried food and still had very soft poo Image

I love listening to music when I walk. Now I walk the dogs with my son and then either hop on our treadmill, or head back out by myself so I can walk really fast.

What a sight we'd be for sure but that would be awesome! We need to have our own butt convention....!!!

You guys should be supplement salespeople -- I've started drinking several cans of Ensure a day this week, and am about to head out at lunch to pick up some FiberSure :) :) Getting a little tired of the mostly liquid diet and am going to try putting FiberSure on some baked fish.
BTW as a funny observation, I've never really paid much attention to my poo before this fissure thing started. But now I pay more attention than any human being should, and can CLEARLY see the impact each morning of what I ate the night before. Like oh that pink color, that's the carrots, or oh look it's more lumpy, that must be the spam. Ok it's a bit gross so I'll stop, but suffice to say, this poo thing is more of a science than I'd ever expected!
