Hi wecc,
I have been really researching this since I first saw your post after 'surgery'. I have not found one bad result, so far, but not that much consistent research either. I am going to join uptodate.com and see what more I can glean.
I found the doctor in NYC, and also looked him up! Like research... Wonder what other doctors there are out there doing this. Also, how many on here have had it and their results would be interesting to read.
I have struggled with this for nearly two years now, with ups and downs, and I am not getting any younger. That is what so frightens me about LIS, that I might not do too well after real surgery.
If you don't mind me asking, are you over 40? If you don't feel like answering, that is okay. I am just wondering whether the external and internal sphincter lose their elasticity with age, but suppose with such a really simple procedure, there is not much to lose in trying it. With the way I feel now, even slight incontinence would be easier to bear than constant pain.
