Nerve Damage?

Postby Jimmy7223 » 23 Jul 2015, 10:44

Has anyone ever experienced nerve damage from a fissure?

I feel like this is the strangest thing. According to my CRS, the fissure was "healed" 2 weeks ago when I saw him. However, I still feel sore there, I still feel like I have tightness in the sphincter like it is always flexing or is tight. Even further, this discomfort radiates to my penis and makes me feel like I have to urinate.

Anyone experienced anything like this? Do I have some kind of nerve damage?

Yes, there can definitely be nerve damage! You are not losing your mind. I had botox and a superficial fistula later on that was corrected with a simple surgery. That was in October. I was declared healed shorty after but I continued to have burning pain at times that I came to realize was nerve damage. Nerves can evidently take a looong time to regenerate. I believe this is normal. I also know from reading on this site that fissures can take a long time to truly heal. So hang in there!! My bum is still not the same but this may be my new normal. Its certainly no where as bad as fissure hell but I do wish I could get a new a$$ sometimes, lol :)
fissure May 2014

botox July
fistula surgery, piece of skin tag removed Oct
fissure declared healed Dec
currently have burning/pain-told it is nerve pain
physical therapy, sitz baths, valium suppositories
hoping I am healing
