Corsi,
I took lactalose for awhile. I don't think you would want to take Movical/Miralax at the same time. They do very similar things. The lactalose caused me terrible, TERRIBLE constant gas. I really felt I could not be around anyone because of it. For me the Miralax is much milder in that respect and I love it!

So happy to hear your diarrhea is gone.

Corsi - I am so sorry to hear about your pain and the setback Image - what the heck ??? I was not on the board yesterday ( my hubby had a birthday lol - we have 4 B-days in a month span - so yeah , crazy time here lol). Anyways - glad that your diarrhea stopped Image !!! Miralax
was too powerful for me BUT - I took full dose - it was before I even joined this forum and had no idea how laxatives work since never used or needed one in my whole life ! I was in a bathroom in 30 min. strait and having diarrhea full force , so start with tiny dose and work your way up as needed.
I do not now if Miralax is same thing as Movical Image , so can't help there : (.
Hope all will be under control very, VERY soon Image !!!!

I can see how the iron transfusion could cause diarrhea, as I once took iron and it gave me such a horrible case that I had to run go sh*t in the woods while driving, there was simply no waiting for a bathroom!!
Have you tried eating more red meat and other iron-rich foods. I'm sure you could tolerate that easier. Also, a good shot of b-12 will help with energy levels!!

Have you taken lactulose before Corsi? Just wondering as i took it for 3 days and got bad cramps, then drank loads of water and WHOOSH!!! I didnt take that again! Image Like Fissy, i didnt know anything about laxatives back then, as i've never needed them, but took that awful stuff when my doctor gave it to me!
I hope you get your iron levels sorted out soon, and start to feel better. Image

Red meat Kim? Impossible...the pain during BM is Image Lot of the iron rich food don't work for me with a fissure and also some of it isn't gluten free.
I'll try the Miralax tonight...should I take lactulose during the day anyway? I am such a big sissy chicken thing!!! I am going to a friend to night, we will be 10 girls...don't know if I dare drink wine.....maybe wine and Miralax????

"Most important fact about MiraLax
Unless your doctor directs otherwise, do not use MiraLax for more than 2 weeks. Sustained, frequent, or excessive use can upset the body's chemical balance, and can lead to dependence on laxatives".
"Special warnings about MiraLax
Remember that MiraLax is not for prolonged use. To promote regularity, make sure your diet includes plenty of fiber and fluids, and get regular exercise".

Hey Corsi
I would stick with the Lactulose and maybe try just one teaspoon of movicol/miralax before bedtime and see how things go, the last thing you need now is more diarrhea Image
If you feel the benefit you could very gradually wean down Lactulose and up the movicol but do this is very small doses, if you still have concerns have a chat with your GP to see what they suggest.
Those findings are printed on my patient leaflet, just like the Lactulose most probely ! Movicol/miralax and Lactulose are both osmotic laxatives they work by pulling water back into the colon which softens stool so it is easier to pass :flush:
Goodluck Corsi !
Have a super time with the girls this evening :bla:

I will try it, 1 teaspoon before I go to bed. I've had it with these formed BMs!
Thanks Tabby Image
