Thanks wounded... Hugs back!

Things seem to be ticking along..... Still no period..... Still sore... But not too bad.
I'm having some good days, and some not so good days.
My acupuncture lady is back up and running, so saw her yesterday. I really believe that it's working to relieve my pain.

I have a long way to go.... But I have glimpses of my life getting back again..... And that gives me hope...... And that spurrs me on!

It really does sound hopeful, OMB, which is fantastic news!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

I had a bit of a disappointing appointment at the pain clinic. She took my history, but wasn't sure how else she could help me for now, as I had other appointments I am waiting for.
She couldn't give me an answer when I asked if nerve pain ever gets better..... She said its different for everyone.
She wants me to attend a class on ' mindfulness' that starts in April. I'm not sure how I will sit there for 3 hours at a time though!!!
I think the pain clinic is all about accepting your pain.... But I'm not ready to do that just yet!

Hell no. Don't ever accept this kind of pain. Sorry O that was just my gut reaction. But I thought pain clinics have the right drugs to keep you out of pain for almost any condition?

No I know you won't! It's a bummer they did not seem too helpful though. :)

OMB it is easy for them to say accept your pain, as if we can do anything else! I have never even thought of that, and wonder if they say these things cause it is another way of saying " it's all in your head" . I really do think that there is so little research done (or interest) in rectal/anal pain that they don't know what to do with us. Sorry, OMB, what a pain in the arse it all is...had to throw that in :) :smilyhug:

Lol.... Yes.... It is a right pain in the arse!
I'm not even sure it's just anal pain.... Any chronic pain seems to have professionals in a quandary. It's just so difficult to treat when there's no visible injury to see. I'm sure they mean well.... But who in their right mind would accept being in pain forever. I will only keep trying harder for solutions... There is alot more I can try.

How are you Sav? How is your pain these days??
