Scheduled this Friday for LIS and tag removal yikes

Postby Hatetopoop » 08 Jan 2014, 10:02

Hi,
Finally after suffering for the past three years in and out of doctor's office, I decided to take the LIS plunge. I have suffered from multiple fissures and inflamed skin tags. Surgeon says LIS is 90% success rate so I'm hoping all goes well.

The only thing I am worried about is the actual removal of the skin tags. I heard this can be very painful recovery and there are no stitches only gaping holes exposed. YIKES!

Any thoughts on recovery and things I can do to manage the pain. I hope to get some painkillers and OD on fiber/magnesium.

Please say a small prayer for me this Friday at 12:00 pm ET.

Thanks!

Hi,

I all pray for you this Friday, don't be so worried, LIS is a walk in the park really. You will feel much better afterwards. And skin tag removal will bring some pain, but it will be sharp in the first week and only during BM, you will not feel so intense spasms after BM, which will change your life.

Thanks skumar. How are you doing now? I am not having a fissurectomy but I feel my fissure now like a nuisance. Seems I am a little better with the daily pain--I can sit longer at my desk and drive however, surgery is tomorrow! I am worried about that skin tag removal but I don't want to live with those tags hanging out anymore. I don't think I would do a 2nd surgery after a LIS either and given I do not have much days off from work, this will have to be the one surgery for me to fix it all. Oh boy....

I am feeling good atleast I can say that for sure. Now I am definitely at peace after whatever I gone through. Best idea to have the skin tag removal at the same time. Yes, skin tag are will be left open but the wound would fill up in 15 days. I joined the job after 15 days. All the best. Just take the pain killers if you have the pain but also make sure you are not constipated. I followed the doctor' post op instruction completely. Don't scared of first BM, it won't be that bad. All the best.

Update: had my surgery today; all went well! Thanks so much for the prayers and positive thoughts. Let's see how I feel tomorrow...I had a fissurectomy, LIS, and tag removal inside and out. Dr. prescribed oxycodedone with acteminophin 325 mg. I don't know why--was expecting something stronger. I just took one with dinner--light soup and small piece of quiche, aloe juice and lots of water. I hope I have the gumption to get through recovery now.
