Fissure or not? I'm not sure...

Postby martin99 » 25 Feb 2014, 18:16

Hi!

First excuse my English as I'm French canadian! :)

So --

I've been having diarrhea for 4 weeks now. However, I'm only having BM daily, or sometimes 2 times/day.

Yesterday for the first time, during my BM, I felt an itching sensation while evacuating, mainly the first seconds. No blood on the paper.

This morning, same thing, strange itching sensation at the beginning, and itching a bit after. No blood on the paper.

If I have to fart, there is a kind of 'discomfort' at the beginning too.

Any ideas what it could be? AF? Other thing? Irritation?

Thanks!
Martin

It's quite difficult to say. Bad diarrhoea can cause a fissure, but by the sound of it you aren't having serious pain, so hopefully it is not a fissure.

Diarrhoea can be very irritating, if it's acidic. Four weeks is a long time to be having it - have you seen a doctor? Do you know the cause? Are you taking imodium or anything else for it?

Are you straining at all? I know that sounds like a strange thing to ask, but I sometimes used to strain, even with diarrhoea if it seemed like it wasn't all evacuated. Don't strain! That can also cause a fissure.

I hope you get well soon.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
