Thanks Rachael!! Xx

Well, I'm sore today. When I looked down there I can see a red slightly raised patch near the fissure location that is really stingy to the touch. I've no idea what it is... And I'm hoping its just some sort of irritation, and not the start of an abcess etc.

It's the 2 week mark today, and to be honest I was hoping to feel better than this. It looks like I won't be coming off the couch any time soon.ive got no idea of how I should be feeling at this point... And I have no one to compare with, as I have had an internal flap... Not a classic one. I may send mr w an email and see what he says.

If I was reading this I would say ... Don't worry, it's early days.... But it's sooo hard when the boot is on the other foot!!

Ha ha lol... Yes jbl!!

I have emailed mr w anyway, describing the super sore, slightly raised red patch, and am waiting to see what he says.
I feel ok in myself... Have no temp etc, so I am guessing it's not an infection. Who knows... But as I've nothing else to do but worry about it... I'm worrying about it!!

Other wise.... The bleeding and discharge has near on stopped. No blood with a bm either. I continue to take 2 movicol per day, and that keeps things soft. If things settle down I will start to reduce it a bit... But I think for me.. I will prob be a longtime user.

Went to drs today to get this sore patch checked out. He wasn't sure if it was irritation from a stitch that is slightly poking out, or the start of an infection at the fissure/ stitch site. He gave me some anti biotic cream to use first, then if that didn't work, some antibiotics. It's pretty red and angry looking... And super sore to touch. :sadd:

Sorry to hear about the pain. Otherwise, did he check how the flap is doing? Did it hold up alright over the last few weeks? I'd imagine if it is still in place now, it's pretty well rooted and not likely to move anymore. Hopefully it's just a matter of time before you can say you are officially done with this horror.

p.s. I don't want to be an alarmist but it might also be a good idea for you to take your temperature every once in a while. I think the key with infection is detecting it early on, so it's great that your doctor is already aware just in case it turns out to be an infection. Hopefully it's just a sore stitch. Taking your temperature every once in a while to keep an eye out for a low grade fever might be prudent- in the US they usually say anything above 100.4ish is worth phoning the doctor after a surgery.

No... I've not heard back from mr w yet... He must be on holiday or something.... Or sick of me pestering him! Lol

I've used the cream today, and not noticed any difference. I'll see how it looks tomorrow, then maybe start the anti biotics on Sunday if still no improvement. Ugh... I just want one thing to go right without a complication for a change!

Thanks for the advice asdf.... I sent my husband out to get a thermometer... Can you believe how rubbish I am... 3 kids and not got a thermometer! I haven't got a temp though.

I have had 3 sets of visitors today, so I have been made a fuss of.... Just wish it wasn't all about my bum all the time!!

Thanks for the hugs xx
