Tips for people with jobs where they have to stand?

Postby Mae » 09 Dec 2014, 10:16

The only time my hemorrhoids seem to bother me anymore is when I'm at work, because I have to be on my feet the entire time I'm there. I've already found that walking seems to get the blood movin through my body so if I start to feel that familiar pressure again I do some laps around the restaurant, haha. I was wondering if anyone else has any other tips? And is my job slowing down healing time?

I think you are right - keep walking when you can. I guess you always have the excuse of filling water glasses, checking on customers etc?
Can you get a high stool to perch on when things are bad? Does you boss know you have a health problem and would s/he be sympathetic?
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

We're not allowed to sit down while in the clock. And I've tried asking for allowances while sick before but they don't really care. You seriously have to be like 8 months pregnant before they let you have a stool or something.
