I'm so glad you are getting help with your pelvic floor and your pain............I've got every finger (mentally) crossed that things go better for you from now on.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Glad to hear there is a plan OMB. Hope your exercises go well.

Just wanted to add that having too much tension in my pelvic floor has made me cautious of these kegel exercises. Anyone who is aware of pelvic pain has told me either don't do them or when/if you do to make sure to emphasize not only the contraction but also the relaxation part so your muscles don't become tight and irritable. Just be careful not to overdo it. If they really are that week I would be careful to build up very slowly, like any muscle in the body you don't want to overtrain it. Just my 2 cents anyway ;)
Dec '13 Fissure from anoscope
3 X internal sphincter botox
'08-'15 Botox for pelvic floor dysfunction
Nov '14 LIS/sentinel tag removal
Feb '15 Deroofing of recurrent infection from LIS
summer '15-healed but still ongoing muscle dysfunction/pain

It's done with a machine. I can vary the intensity of it as I go. I am starting at a low voltage every other day. The last thing I want is to be all achy and sore down there even more than I am already!! Lol

Whilst talking to another board member today, I was saying that my readings were very very low.. And yet I was not soiling myself... It just makes me think even more that what is within normal range for others is really not the same for me. Others at that low a reading would have real incontinence issues.

Thanks for the advice msimon xxx

Things were ticking along nicely..... Until the last couple of days. I'm really sore and feel like I've been cheese grated. I know my period is to blame, and the body's flood of eastrogen makes painful things even more painful. I just hope it hurrys up and starts. Ugh......
I haven't been able to have acupuncture as the lady who does it has dislocated her thumb. Hopefully that will start back up next week.
I feel a bit achey from the pelvic floor therapy... But I'm hoping that's a good sign!
