My bet is that you will have good days and not so good days for a while to come. Every time you have a day of discomfort, itching, weird feelings etc, you have to remind yourself that it's temporary. I went through this, and it lasted a few months. I had to keep reminding myself how much better it was than the full blown fissure. It was discouraging and depressing but I did get through it and so will you.
Try the estrogen cream maybe? I know you are male, but men have estrogen too, and it's good for healing. Worked for me, at least I think that was the thing that finally cured me.

Arghhhhhhh!!!! :verysad: :verysad:

Ok so work organised a skittles night and I agreed as I was feeling so good but today I had 2 BMs and all had gone to heck.

Bm wasn't that painful but after going to skittles I'm in agony down there!! Why?! It came on whilst I was picking the skittles up and felt an irritation but I've got home and the skin around the sphincter especially at 12:00 is red raw!!! I've got shooting pains just on the inside too and I feel like jumping off a cliff. Pain relief isn't helping nor did a sits bath.

On the plus side got a call from my surgeons secretary saying my crs wants to see me tomorrow instead of next week so will be crying in his office no doubt.

I just don't know what I've done! I was doing so well!!!!!

Could be the bending down and picking things up. Bending was always bad for me. Hope it eases up soon, FF.

I agree with Scientist. Bending has given me trouble as I heal as sometimes I feel the tissue tightening and then it doesn't take much movement and the new tissue is so delicate and tears. It's usually just microtears but causes a lot of grief nonetheless. Hope you get back on track soon. Damn rollercoaster from hell this healing business is. Just curious, do apply any ointments down there? I find if I let the tissue get dry it is much more prone to getting that tight feeling and then tearing.
