Michael, be careful with Tylenol 3 - they can cause constipation and the longer the poop sits in the colon, the more dried out and hard it will get... Which will not be easy to pass. I suggest that you find a doctor who can help you with a plan - good foods to eat, meds to take... It's lots of new learning. You can also learn a lot from going back and reading old posts on this site... Lots of good information and experience here.

No, Miralax should not cause diahrreah and if it does, you can always adjust the dose (ie. Try a half dose not a full does). Make small changes to your diet... If you add too much fiber too quickly it can really back things up. I take a stool softener and miralax right now with prune juice... It helps to have a consistently soft BM everyday and it has REALLY helped with the healing.

And again, I'm a little worried about some of the things your doctor has told you/not told you. I would really encourage you to seek a second opinion. You will get better... But you need to keep learning and find some good information.

Hi Michael,

You are not alone, I refer to what you feel so much, had so big problems with mental health two years ago when nothing seemed to make me happy(beautiful wife, newborn kid), and of course mental health is very much connected to physical.

I had this kind of anxiety and depression problems even before, that times I took antidepressants, and understood that having fissure I will not cope without them. I took short 1.5 month course, and those gave me power to continue fighting.

What is important they not even improve your mental health, they have also good tissue regeneration influence so I believe make double work here.

You can also refer to my story in signature if you want, and I would strongly recommend to try them during this battle.

Michael,

My symptoms feel very similar to yours. I don't have constant pain in the anal area however I feel a pretty steady pressure as though there is swelling and then I constantly feel like I need to pee. Even after I pee, which is usually is weak stream, I need to pee pretty much immediately afterwards. Never any relief.

How are you feeling recentlt? Any updates? I have been using nifedipine for the past three weeks which has helped slightly. I have a few good days here and there. Anything working for you?

Hope you are doing okay

My pain was just in the anus area, went thru hell for many years till a few months saw the surgeon and he told me 90 pecent of his patients dont need fissure surgery, he prescribed me an oinment , some special compound that numbs the pain and i would of bet anything it would not work, but within a few days much better and 2 months hardley ever any pain, and i had this fissure for more than 20 years, could not believe family doctor did know about it, best thing that ever happened in my life, but if you have pain going to groin area, i would change doctors and go to specialist only
