Cannot handle the pain

Postby Bhill » 08 Aug 2015, 09:05

Not sure if I am posting in the correct spot because I am new but I have had a fissue three times in my life but this is the worst. I can't move without pain and the pain is consuming me. I haven't gone go the bathroom since last Saturday when the fissure started on sunday. I tried to power through and go on Monday and it just made it worst. Now I am scared to go and the pain keeps worst every day...how do I move forward how do i heal and how do I go the bathroom.

Welcome! Not the greatest place you want to be, but hopefully some of the posts will be of use to you.

You have said in another post that you have not had a BM since last week Sunday. Not sure what you should do about this, but suggest you contact your doctor to ask. Fecal impaction (and not saying you have this) needs a doctor to advise what to do. Dont just leave it.

Let us know how it goes

It's because of the fissure...it's not uncommon for me to not go for 4 to 5 days but what sucks is i have to go but because of the pain I cannot even pass gas without extreme pain. I don't have a Dr and really can't afford to go just to be told to take a laxative and wait ( which has happened in every situation) . My biggest issue is the fissure is so bad I can't go my body won't lose up in that area

Okay if my dumb math is correct...1 week no poop

You must poop, you must

Get a couple fleet enemas from the drugstore and follow the directions, after that get to know your blender and type constipation smoothie into that Google thing.

Wow

I actually can't take an enema :( I tried today but am too tight I cannot relax down there at all. I was not constipated because of what I ate and i didn't get a fissure from a hard stool. I was super stressed out and pushed too hard and ripped. Then I went a tiny bir on Monday and since then was basically holding it in. Now it's too hard to go and I can't relax enough to go.

So good news I am no longer blocked the bad news is the pain is so bad I can't function. I had to work today (now yesterday I guess) and having to be on my feet walking or sitting in hard plastic or metal chairs killed me. I got home and had a small bowel movement which afterwards has been nothing but extreme pain. The pain is so bad I cannot sleep without waking up yelling in pain and the sleep is restless. So here i am up late with having to go to work tomorrow and taking care of my 2 kids and not sure of i can mange either. I want to go to the er but i doubt that would be helpful. I plan to call around and try to get an emergency app in with any dr I can.

If you can get to a Doctor, insist they at least prescribe you one of the fissure ointments (nifedipine, nitroglycerine or diltiazem). You must also keep your BMs soft, likely with some sort of stool softener (miralax is best). For pain, have you tried ibuprofen? Don't take anything narcotic as they are very constipating. Warm baths help a lot with the spasms, which are the major cause of the pain. Even a heating pad or hot water bottle is very helpful. Hope you feel better very soon!

Go to see a Colon and Rectal surgeon. These are the doctors qualified to treat your problem. You passed a BM after nearly a week not going which is not good as it will just get worse each time you are unable to have a BM for days on end. Suggest also that you get yourself a Sitz Bath from a pharmacy as this is good for relieving the area/bringing blood to the area, as the lack of 'circulation' is what causes the pain.

When you are not in so much pain, you need to think through what is going on with your body and how you can get things right, and that is why we have been giving you all the information we have, as most of us have been where you are. Also, if you feel you are not coping, ask your doctor for something to help you relax (my doctor prescribed a very low dose of Lorazapam when I could not relax with all the pain). It is so difficult when you have to look after children as well. Hope you have family who might help with that.

All the best to you :smilyhug:

Hope you

Thanks...so far every specialist I called wants a referral. ..can't do that because I don't have a normal care doctor. LI keep I have mentioned before I know what caused it...I was stressed and pushed really hard and tore. The not going for a length of time is not uncommon for me. It's been that way for years and the doctors have no reason or answer . I eat paleo and am pretty healthy as far as what I eat. I going everyday right now but the pain is bad. I will look into the sitz bath and will continue to try and find a doctor. Our insurance is horrible right now so I am limited anyways. Hoping tonight goes better...the day went better at least but now I need to go pass stool. I did get my h fissure natural oil in the mail today...hoping it helps. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I am sorry for your pain.

Stress can be a real trigger, our colon is connected to our brain and our nervous system. Stress has been unmanageable for me lately and my pain is worse than ever.

I don't where you live but in some areas there are doctors at walk in clinics who will take you as a regular patient.
