Should I just keep my tag?

A sub-forum to talk about what our fissures, etc., leave behind. Tags, uncomfortable and sometimes painful. This is the place!

Should I just keep my tag?

Postby Mae » 15 Aug 2015, 08:48

Let me start by saying my fissure is gone, my tag has shrunk a bit and it doesn't cause any discomfort anymore. However I'm pretty self conscious about it. I have large labia, a perineal raphe and now an anal skin tag. The labia/raphe might conceal the tag a bit, but still. I feel like it's probably a turnoff.

I was wondering if asymptomatic skin tags can be removed under most insurance plans, or is that considered cosmetic?

And should I just learn to accept it and try to feel attractive despite it?

● Cycle of healing and reappearing
● Using conservative methods (metamucil, managing anxiety)

I worried about mine for years, but as if you have more surgery you just risk getting more (it's scar tissue, after all). I really would not have it off. No one has ever mentioned it to me in intimate moments or after them... :sunny:
