It my last resort was offered it years ago and declined it as my crohns while painful and inconvenient didn't make me feel bad enough to justify a colostomy....now I need one I know I will have to fight to get it as I'm going to the toilet less than 20 times in 24 hours and that is one of the things they ask about
I have lots of friends with them and a couple have turned down reversals too....for lots of people it improves their life a lot

Thanx everyone for the positive vibes....I didn't go again last night and with the help of a tablet my pain went down to a 3 so not too traumatic. So what to eat today....1 slice of bacon 1 slice of bread and a scone....they only had whole meal bread in the restaurant yesterday so I'm wondering if maybe that was the problem. Took a loperamide so should be safe today...just have to hope I don't get constipation now what a blooming see saw this is lol

Well no toilet trips yesterday so pain was pretty okk at a 3 and this morning no pain at all just a slight discomfort so at least I know if I don't have a BM the pain goes completely, I can even sit now for nearly an hour without pain...it all comes after a BM.
Going to try and eat a bit more today as felt quite weak at work yesterday so will see how that goes. Might try adding my psyllium back in....I took it out as it was starting to go straight through me but it did work in the beginning.

That's great mbp. Honestly I would say it sounds like you're improving, slowly that is but still. When's the last time you've been able to see a gastroenterologist? Maybe there's something new to help regulate things a little better.

I see my GI every 6 months, I feel great today but I was like that last week felt great only discomfort then bang as soon as I had a BM pain up to a 10. I knew it was going to be hard due to my other issues and I truly believe that if I could control my BMs I would be able to heal...but I have been trying to control them for 20 years now and these past 18 months are the best they have been apart from when I'm pregnant. before this fissure it was normal for me to go 15 x a day and bad days were 30+ times
But I'm seeing a specialist dietician in January so let's see what they advise

Oh no Jim that's not good...once I go 30 hours without a BM my pain level goes down to a 3 if I manage 40 hours it's no longer painful at all. Not even really uncomfortable just a feeling down there.
Has your pain ever come on without a BM I know mine doesn't

Sometimes yes it may be due to the scar tissue from the internal hemorrhoids at least thats what my crs told me

I think my colon got upset last night as I was doing my overnight work one day a week. I did some ointment last night before work and put it up there pretty good and the pain got worse but I felt the area where the hems were banded. I am pretty sure that tissue area is still tender. Before I left work I had a lot of BM soft no blood all normal pain maybe a 2 shot up to a 4 then subsided . Will see what the next few days bring and go from there.

Ah I guess with banded hems there will be scar tissue that could cause pain... Probably the fact it's not going above a 4 means it's more likely to be that than the fissure. Hope it doesn't happen again though
