My CRS was going to do mine but said he didn't want to add to my pain unless I insisted....I was like no leave them unless they are in the way lol.
I have heard it can take a while for the pain to stop after hems banding

Well I have just had a small and trust me I do mean very small slice of Christmas cake as it was eat it or have everyone moaning now my tummy is making noises really hoping this doesn't backfire on me.
I do not understand why it is seen as rude and unacceptable to refuse food....I mean I love Christmas cake I really love it and two years ago you would have had to beat me off with a large Christmas cracker but now I'm scared s***tless to eat it and I can't remember if my colon likes it so trying not to panic lol.

MPB Thats what I do test foods see what happens . Waking up from my overnight work and pain levels are back to manageable levels. No fever or any other symptoms of infection which is always a concern but after 40 days post op I think I am in the clear

I think that's what I'm going to have to do now jim...I mean there are food I know that I will never eat again...unless I get my colostomy. But I'm really unsure of lots of foods now especially ones I don't eat often. Will def be going to the toilet tonight I'm just really hoping I only go once and that the pain is manageable.

I know I used to go so much it was just part of my everyday life even if I went more often than others for me it was still normal...now it's scary and agony and something that should be natural it completely panic inducing....not fair

ThaThats key point the word panic. I believe that alot of it is stress panic and anxiety induced. For me everytime I work my overnight my colon has a fit. Now that it is over untill next week my levels have reduced quite a bit. I find that very interesting as to why that is but then again I was diagnosed with GAD hence neurologist put me on diazepam and xanax. And then I come to learn that GAD can exasperate this. Interesting indeed

Yes I know mine is stress related....I'm happy and relaxed and never score above a 4 on any depression anxiety work from the GP hence never get counselling, but and here is the thing. I work part time, go to uni, have a son with aspergers, a sixteen year old girl, a hubby who believes men should just work and that's it...so I do all the housework, shopping and cleaning....so yes heck of course I'm stressed and mine goes straight to my tummy and bang there goes my bowel...never an issue until this sodding fissure....although I truly believe my fissure was caused by a majorly stressful event at work that carried on for months.
