Well no BM so far today and I have eaten pretty normally for me so hopefully will hold out until tomorrow. No real pain at all just when I was walking felt discomfort around a 2/3 and for some reason since the LIS I can actually feel the fissure a lot more as in the pain seems more centralised in that area as opposed to my whole anus. Hope that's a good thing.
Just got to try and get regular BMs now hence why I ate a normal amount of food. I know starving myself then eating slight amounts doesn't help my crohns but what are you meant to do when your in that much pain it scares you.
GG I think my enema kit is at the delivery office as I was at work which is just typical lol
Fingers crossed for a nice BM tomorrow

Sounds good mpb - I'm finding my pain more centralized too, so I think that is a good sign!!!! Fingers crossed that kit comes quickly

Just had a BM on the small side Bristol 3/4 so left a bit of residue can't get in the bath as have to be at work in 15 mins ggggrrrr blooming typical been up since 7 and I have to go to the toilet just as I need to leave. I have put GTN up there so this will be interesting to see how the pain is without a bath. Hoping it's not too bad as I'm out at work and I think they are getting very fed up of it now
Well here's hoping the pain stays manageable and I don't go again today

Ok so amazingly enough the pain never went above a 3 just the stinging really although it did get quite uncomfortable at the end of work when I had been sat for over 2 hours but I wouldn't call it pain.
I really wish I could take something or do something that would guarantee me one normal BM a day then I'm certain this thing would heal. I'm secretly hoping the amityptiline is working on my IBS but I daren't get my hopes up...just going to take one day at a time and today was very good and I'm again grateful for a mostly pain free day even after a BM.
I have eaten normally again today even had a very mild curry at work (only a bit) as they don't normally bother me so hopefully the colon behaves.
It's been so nice having 2 days where I have been to the toilet yet still have been able to function...fingers crossed no toilet trips tonight

Hi savaici,
No I didn't get a message from you...
Had another normal BM this morning about a Bristol 3 again residue but again pain is just stinging and didn't go above a 3 and is now just discomfort. I truly wish I could have a normal BM everyday.
Not sure what to say to the surgeon tomorrow as I don't want a major surgery if I can maintain normal BMs and pain at a 3 doesn't bother me at all. But how long will my BMs stay like this....I haven't changed what I'm eating or what I'm doing its just I have had a good few days with my IBS. What happens when the bad days come back how will my fissure react to that because I know it's still not healed.
Oh decisions decisions

Hi mypoorbutt I have been reading your messages every day and I'm pleased you have had a good few days fingers crossed you have reached a turning point and things stay on the up I saw my surgeon on Tuesday and the op I had did not heal right and it's turned into a fistula! Which is more pain then my tear! So I need another op for that I'm having a MRI on the 29th Dec seeing surgeon on the 10th Jan for results and then got a letter Saturday saying I have my pre op the 13th Jan so things are moving fast one thing I did find out was the reason I have had a tear for over 11 years was cos up inside I had a large skin tag that was in the way making healing impossible! So I did need the op I had after all so I could heal the sad thing is all the healing I have done in the last 9 weeks will be for nothing as they have to reopen my tear to get to the fistula as it's the same area!! But I guess they have to do what they have to do I just can't wait to get this stage of my life over and done with its like living in a nightmare

xx

Hi Katie,
Yes I'm hoping the good days continue a while longer at least to give the fissure a fighting chance of healing. But with my past it's hard to put any trust in my bowel lol.
Goodness you have been through so much but maybe you are nearing the end of your journey once you have this surgery...it's so downheartning that you didn't heal the first time and that it now needs reopening but you can heal and once they have got rid of any infection your body will be able to heal itself again. Don't forget to let us know how your surgery goes. I too read your posts and wish I could have been more helpful...one of my fellow crohnies used an oil of oregano flush for her fistula...her nurse actually did it for her after her op I think you can google it as its meant to be brill she said it was one of the only things that helped her.
