Well went swimming this morning and came home needing the toilet I have just had my perfect BM Bristol 3 had to push a little but no residue so for the first time in well over a year I'm not going to put my GTN up and I will see how bad the pain is....it has been a 3/4 with the GTN but as I'm not at work today I'm willing to see what level it gets up to without it as I don't want to have to use GTN forever....if it gets bad I'm at home so I can get in the bath and if needed put it on later....
Fingers crossed now lol

MPB I was having alot of BM Bristol 3/4 and now I see mainly a 5 for the most part and passing easily. So the water and fiber increase is loosing me up and thats good. Pain level none when passing now up to only 1 after so things are moving good. It has taken almost 7 weeks to get to this level and I can live with this . Have not needed a bath or ointment since tuesday. Progress Ill take it lol

Nice to see how everyone is having a good day. Today I woke up with no pain whatsoever. Applied GTN this morning and havent had to since. Havent had a BM yet but still, a day with no pain or anything reminding me of this fissure is a good thing nonetheless. Cheers to good days!!!

Hi IT,
Yes it's great when we have those days, must admit it's a bit more sore without the GTN but no more than a 4 so I think I'm going to put some on later as might as well as don't want any tightness up there at all lol.
Have you had a date yet...for your bloods

Oh that's great IT, so pleased your not going to be waiting too long. It's just a pity they decided to strike just when you needed them. But by mid February you will be back to your old self and can literally put 2016 firmly behind you

Hi MPB!

Just checking in for the first time in almost a week, and delighted to hear you surgeon says you're 40% healed! Great to hear you've even had some fun in the bedroom dept again too! ;-). Sounds like you're finally getting your life back, I'm delighted for you!

As for me, been suffering with a heavy cold since the weekend, which has put additional strain on my AF. Who knew you even use your ass for sneezing!? Anyway, before this week, I did feel that things were improving (albeit, painfully slowly!), so trying to stay positive and hoping it's just a little bump in the road and nothing more serious...

Fingers crossed you continue your recovery!

Hi Mr F,
Yes I was so shocked when he said that...I was like I have been in sodding agony for weeks here how is it healing, but it is easier to deal with any pain when you know that it's getting better...even if it is a bit slow. I'm really hoping it continues to heal so I don't need further surgery,
I actually think I could live the rest of my life with pain at a 3 for a few hour after a BM and after sex lol.
I agree you never know how involved your butt is in everything you do until you get a fissure....when I go to my GP I literally sit with my coat above my nose as I dread getting a cold or tummy bug...I look like a right nutcase but hey I'm protecting my butt lol
Glad you seem to be making progress too....like I'm trying to think...slow and steady wins the race.
Good luck MPB

Sneexing, coughing, sex, laughing, getting out the car, picking up your child, you name it. Every single thing the requires some sort of core strength involves your butt. LOL.
I had a 40ºC fever last week with the flu and it was agonizing. Dry cough and sneezing was dreadful, whatever we do that requires some strain just gets things acting up down there.

Oh well, time to go and see if I have a good BM. Yesterday I didnt go so pain has subsided for at least 24hrs. Hey, the little time without pain is a blessing right? Even if it means not having gone to the boys/girls room yet. :bouncer:

Hi IT,
Do you think my sphincter tone is so high because my core strength is like practically non existent and my poor butt has spent the last 40 years doing all the hard work lol.
Tell me about it when my pain is bad even stepping of a kerb or a step blooming sets it off.
I love no BM days....but then you start to panic about what the next one will be like....good luck with yours today.
Well I had to put the GTN up yesterday as the pain didn't go above a 4 but did linger and I figured that can't be good for healing...so still on the GTN it seems.
Off out for lunch today....what exciting thing will I be having....oh that will be a plain burger then lol...I would love a spaghetti Bol but nooooo not for me.
Hope everyone manages a pain free day
