I wouldnt say a lack of core strength would give your butt the heavier load. Excuse the pun. lol
It's either genetic or just stress. whatever it is, its a pain in the ass.
My BM was a little harder today and less than usual as I have tried to ween myself off the Dulcosoft(its doing nothing for me other than keep me a touch more regular). I had some fried food last night for the first time in 7 months so that also contributes to the slow and hard movements. I decided that Im going to let go a little untill the operation and try enjoy this festive season a little without going overboard. BM was about 20 mins ago and pain is surprisingly low. About a 2. Could i ironically be healing just before the LIS? then again, this has happened before. Heal a little, see the ray of light and BAM. Surprise surprise. Who knows?

Oh I'm pretty sure mines stress lol and years and years of holding in explosive BMs still I can find a toilet...pretty sure my sphincter is the most worked muscle on my body lol.
Yes you may as well enjoy yourself a least a bit especially if pain is less, you have the safety net of the surgery so why not lol. Mine did that about 2 month before LIS my pain was minimal unless my bowel was acting up, but when my surgeon operated he said there was not much healing and my fissure was still very deep and long.
But you never know fate has a way of playing with us and you can always get your surgeon to have a look before the put you under. You do hear of people's fissures just healing for no real reason.

Well today has been good no BM so gave my butt a rest from the creams and potions. Had a nice lunch even if I did only have a burger it's good to be able to actually get out with friends again and be able to eat without fear...even if it is my 'safe' food.
I'm still too scared to let myself believe the amitryptiline is working the longest my colon has ever behaved is two weeks so if it can be good for a month I may actually say that as long as I take care then the amitryptiline is doing a very good job. Not sure I would ever put it to the test with 'unsafe' food though as I never ever want to go to the toilet more than once a day, I'm sure the time will come when I do but I will try my very best to keep that at bay for as long as possible.
So let's hope tomorrow it's just one nice BM fingers crossed

Well had my BM this morning Bristol 3/4 but no residue thankfully, put my GTN up and off I went to the gym, two hours later the stinging starts but again no higher than a 3 I'm hoping that this does improve as I heal more but can honestly say that after a 10 a 3 is like nothing and it's just burning which I can live with.
Bit worried today as my tummy is making quite a few noises and I'm pretty certain I will be going to the toilet again. Think I may have to up the amitryptiline but we will see. Quite anxious about how much a 2nd or even a 3rd BM will hurt but trying not to worry too much as this will only make it worse,
So fingers crossed I don't have to go again today

MPB. I can relate to the burning and stinging after going. I am also noticing gas build up putting pressure and then I feel the burning and then after passing gas some relief. Guess I am still tender down there. Stomach has a slight discomfort which maybe due to something I ate but no diarrhea vomiting . Stool yesterday a Bristol 3. Going to back off on the fiber a bit see what happens.

Hi Jim,
I wonder if the burning will be a permanent reminder of the fissure. I hope not but hey I guess burning is better than agony lol. My burning seems to last anywhere between 2 and 6 hours. Oh I hope you haven't eaten anything to upset you. Yes sometimes too much fibre isn't a good thing.

MPB Sometimes I get the burning after peeing but again using the muscles to empty the bladder. My understanding is the muscles are used when emptying bladder passing gas stool and even sex. I hate to think this is a permanate condition but was told eventually all goes away. Well eventually has not arrived but what I have now is manageable so will see. I went to pee about 30 min ago and noticed discomfort for maybe 20 min then gone and it was mild .

It's strange that as when I pee when I'm in pain I get about 10 to 20 mins of relief and when the pain is really bad I have to pee more often. But passing gas causes some slight burning. I hope it does go away eventually but like you say at least we can live with this so much easier than the agony of a spasm
