Fissure healed/pile remains

Postby tightybehind » 15 Dec 2016, 09:11

Fissure seems to have healed as I've had three days without blood, but still have pain during BM.

Now I'm having long-lasting pain (6-8 hours) after BM which I realize is being caused by sentinel pile. Thought it was hemmie, but no. It is just swollen sentinel pile right above fissure.

What can I do to help shrink this? I realize it's not going away. Ice? Sitz baths? Anything else?

Fissures take a while to heal, the sentinel pile is probably a skin tag. If it's swollen and painful chances are your fissure has not healed completely. tags form to protect the fissure. Make sure you keep you bms soft and easy to pass, sitz baths can help but it all takes time. Chronic fissures may not produce blood. If you're seeing blood you have a healthy blood supply to the area and a good chance of healing it completely. Good luck Suzy

Thanks Suzy. Any ideas on how to increase blood flow to the area? Physical activity? Heating pad? Sitz?

There is no way that I know of. I had LIS and it failed after waiting 5 more years ( I don't reccommend that) I had double flap surgery. My fissure would have never healed because the scar tissue it was causing caused severe stenosis. Hope you can get yours healed and it stays healed.
