I am new to this forum. Yesterday I had a fissurectomy, skin tag removed and 100 units of botox. I don't really have much pain today. Just waiting on the botox to start working. 100 units seems like alot! I've had an anal fissure for a few years on and off, but has been really bad the last few months. I'm a little concerned about the side effects of botox and plan on taking alot of time of work.

Hi LMG,

Welcome to the Forum :) 100 units is quite a dose of Botox but it was most likely divided around the sphincter not all in one place. Side effects of botox are minimal, and can only really cause 'urge to go' Just be close to the loo!

Glad pain is ok, just keep up your fluid intake and regular paracetamols. where was your fissure?

FF
Suffering since June 2013

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

Hi FF,
My fissure is anterior. Worst location and CRS is reluctant to do a sphicterectomy. I haven't had any side effects from the botox. It has almost been a week since the fissurectomy and botox and I'm starting to feel alot better. Are you planning surgery?

Hi LMG,
Out of interest is your CRS reluctant to do LIS because it is anterior, or for some other reason?
Thanks, LM

I second that question LM I also have an anterior fissure nothing was mentioned about it being the worst location an from what I've read I thought it was a better location because it gets better blood flow?
