Hello Fellow Sufferers!

Today I had yest another gastro appointment and decided it was time to figure out if there were more ppl like me out there, who are at their wits' end in trying to manage their recurring fissures.

I have had this problem for about 2,5 years. I am 27 years old and my issues started after losing about 30lbs of weight. Ironic since now I am definitely living a healthier life style, and yet here I am on an Anal Fissure Support Forum

Below are the things i have tried so far:

1. Banding of internal hemorrhoids - most awful experience of my life and as it turned out it was probably completely unnecessary
2. acupuncture
3. squatty potty
4. diet changes
5. nitroglycirine ointments that give a headache physically and financially

at this point, with the fissure still recurring, i am looking to completely cut out alcohol and all meat and fish.

Please comment below if plant based diet was your cure?

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

MK

I tried going mostly vegetarian and found that I only lost energy and didn't improve my fissure. Now I eat everything in moderation and take miralax and things are much more in control. Have you considered botox or nifedipine ointment for the fissure? Nifedipine will not cause the same headaches as nitro.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
