Bad night and in pain this morning. Woke in the night and had BM and had spasms. Sat in stil bath and went to bed couldn't sleep for ages, due to pain. This morning the same. That painful sore deep dull ache, I feel like crying as its so deflating after a few good days, although I knew it was coming as I can't get my BM to the right firmness. I never woke for poops during the night before I had a fissure, now it's regular and I'm just really tired. I don't know how I'd cope with out a sitz bath and my electric blanket, heat definitely helps so much!

Omg just had constipation and took half hour to go! Fissure is hurting but I don't think it split more this time. I went straight on sitz bath and I need more laxative I know that now for sure!

Pain woke me up, not in same place, is it a new fissure or just a sore area or sentinel pile that's sore. I can't be sure as the pain is too much to tell feels like a new rip just in time for my long shift at work can't believe this

Hi Lizinpink, just wanted to say I'm currently suffering with a fissure at the moment as well. We seem to be having similar symptoms, however I can not see my fissure, I think it's too far inside. I've been so depressed and have lost nearly 20 lbs with my change in diet / depression.

Hi yenrac, do you have a diary? I have found keeping one helps and I do look through lots of diaries. Lucky you loosing weight! I've not lost any which is crazy as I'm eating really healthy. I've never felt continuous pain like this it is so draining mentally as well as suffering the pain. It's unreal I still can't believe I'm on here having never heard of fissures before I had one. Yes mine is inside too, I do get sore outside sometimes though like my butt hole is irritated. It did also show on the outside but once that healed I did find the pain easier. What a nightmare this whole bloody expirence is!

Had a few days where I've had pain but it's only lasted a few hours. This means I can get on with my life until the next BM! Magnesium seems to help looking at other peoples threads, so I've ordered some. This fissure costs a fortune!
I feel totaly drained today, might just be from doing a long shift st work but I know it's also the fissure wearing me down. I'll be ok later it's just a blip on my road to recovery I must be very strict with lotions and foid and everything else that this demon fissure had got me doing daily!

Hi, just a thought but have you had the resting pressure(anal mamotrey) test because if you have a high IS tone then unfortunately it’s highly unlikely that any non invasive therapies will help long term.
Obviously if you can cope with the pain then I understand why you wouldn’t want the op, but who has time or the circumstances for a sitz Bath after a BM or to always remember to take stool softeners....or in my case loperamide. We all have busy life’s and have work and family. Sometimes Botox or LIS really is the best option.
Again I appreciate we are all so different and like I have said I was literally begging for LIS, but whilst waiting I also spent thousands of pounds on every possible natural remedy to help me spent hundreds of hours researching on the internet and emailing surgeons in the UK and abroad and nothing came close to offering any relief.
I truly hope you can heal this without surgery but the pressure test may give you insight into what’s going on down there
Good luck

Mypoorbut yes I totaly agree, I'm not even sure why I'm uneasy about surgery. I'm off next week so I'll book to see a specialist. Your right I guess I just keep thinking it will go but it's been here a while now so I think Botox is very likely. Sometimes I just need shoving in the right direction!

Hey trust me it was only the intense agony of the spasms that made me desperate....I was literally sobbing on the table waiting to get the anaesthetic, I had to be taken back out for ten mins to calm down as my heart rate was so fast...I was literally petrified.
Maybe ask for the resting pressure test as that will give you a good idea of whether you could heal it without intervention.
If your in the US some surgeons just do the Botox in their office it’s really not a big thing although if you have had the fissure a while now a fissurectomy might be useful to tidy up the edges and enable healing.
No one needs a shove and the only right direction is the one you choose....I take my hat off to anyone who can cope with spasm pain....it’s just occasionally the only thing that will help is the op.

Well I've gone backwards, I will be taking advice of mypoorbut and am going to see a specialist. I thought I was doing so well but today I'm in pain. Inside and the skin outside, pain, stinging, soreness all the usual! I look about 20 yrs older than when this started and I feel I've tried everything niw. I was so convinced I was healing but the last few days have been difficult and today is a bad day, I have work later which I'm dreading as I am sleeping there. I work with young offenders so I really need to not be on the loo in agony or wanting to curl up on a bed with the pain.
Today... Pissed off, in pain, looking haggard, feeling drained.
Oh and dreading my next poop
