Hi....yes, my wound is up inside (slightly) I had my surgery at 16.00 on a Monday, had a shower on the Tuesday and started my baths on the Wednesday. I just had paracetamol and ibuprofen for 3 days post op then didn’t take anything after that. Yes I had a packing inside which was dissolvable and I passed the first time I went to the toilet on Tuesday

Re: LIS

I’ve been dealing with an anal fissure since mid-November. It was mostly painful the first 3 or 4 weeks. The pain has subsided for the most part but still comes and goes depending on BM. I’ve been dealing with more discomfort (itchy, burning, etc) as of late.

My follow-up with my doctor is in 2 weeks and I’m sure when I go back that he may want to schedule an LIS. My questions are:

- Are you in and out same day?
- How much pain are you in?
- How quickly can you return to work? (I’m an in-office consultant, so don’t get paid if I don’t work).

Appreciate any information. Thank you all!

Hi,
Yes it was same day for me but I depends how quick you react to the general anaesthetic. I had my surgery at 16.00 and left at 20.30. The procedure only lasts about 30 mins.

For me the pain went in about 4-5 days. I stopped taking any painkillers after 4 days.

You have a couple of days of pain but different from AF pain, you can tell you are swollen and a bit sore but for me the AF burning pain went straight away. Is was given a sick note for two weeks but I could have gone back to work after about 4 days (wearing a pad to catch the bit of blood you leak!). I stopped bleeding fully after about 10 days.

I hope that helps!

Thanks
