I can’t live like this anymore

Postby Darling » 18 Jan 2018, 02:37

I think I snapped, cried for hours last night, it’s impossible to deal with. I have had chronic fissure for three years now, something happened yesterday and it’s 10times bigger (the tag or what happened?) I’m in terrible pain and my husband is away in business. I’m with 1 month old Baby at home. Trying to see a doctor, can’t take Baby to A&E. Don’t know what to do, it has been destroying my life but now I’m in despair. I can’t deal with this anymore. Sorry for this post xx

Please don't despair - there is help out there. If you explain the situation to your doctor's surgery, they will help you. Otherwise, if the pain is too bad, you can call an ambulance, 999. Try not to panic, and I hope you feel better soon.

You poor thing! I also have a fissure with a baby at home!

If baby is asleep could you maybe get a hot bath? Sometimes that helps!

If you are in the uk could you get some germoloids cream, it’s for piles, but I use it sometimes as it contains lidocaine which takes s a bit of the pain away!

Try not to despair! Get a GPs appointment and some treatment!

Thanks for answers, I had surgery scheduled but we had to postpone everything due to pregnancy. No I have to wait till March to start everything again and see my surgeon. I am in London and will see GP today but I doubt she will help me.
Does anyone know what it is when where the tag is, it suddenly flared up and got bigger and hurts so much constantly? I’m scared to eat at the moment and haven’t eaten for more than 24h now because I don’t want to go to toilet.

Darling, I would also like an answer to that! I can have a few days where I’m fine and yeah sometime my skin tag gets really irritated and big and that hurts?! Don’t know why so I would like to hear any suggestions!

Is this your second baby and we’re you scheduled for LIS?

I think you might do better to eat just a little if you can manage to: maybe soup or broth, and some vegetables. If the fissure flares up, hot baths are a good idea, and help to reduce inflammation.

Maybe you could ask your GP to prescribe something for the pain? Some posters here have found that the anticonvulsant gabapentin is effective, and for me pregabalin has a similar pain-reducing effect, while also lessening anxiety.
