Air out a fissure or keep it moist?

Postby PreggoAF » 12 Feb 2018, 17:29

Quick question for everyone. Is it better to give a fissure some air? Like walk around and sleep pantsless? Or better to keep it moist with something like coconut oil, aloe, etc?

I ask because I thought a wound healed better when kept moist, but my CRS told me today that it was good to let it air out to get oxygen to the wound.

Thanks Vegman. That’s interesting. What surgery did you have? My CRS has a great rep in San Francisco but I feel like she’s giving me bad advice for my fissure. Keeping it wet sounds right.
