I think the degree of healing depends on how deep and wide the cut is. For you the main fissure happened during intense delivery. Ask your doctor how deep and wide yours is. Mine happened during a severe stomach virus diarrhea, wh9ch irritated the lining, made it thin, then sue to dehydration severe constipation occurred. I didn't know so much straining can cause issues. I didn't do softeners because I was frightened of the just passed diarrhea. So my cut is very deep and wide and the doc said that the chance of healing on its own is not so good and if it does a relapse is possible. So it all depends. Also the spasming muscles pull the edges of the fissure apart so so it won't seal.
I encourage everyone to find out how deep and wide their fissures are and make a decision before suffering endlessly. My CRS said in his 20 year practice he hasn't seen incontinence from LIS because they cut a small amount of muscle, not like before where they would cut three times as much.
