Day 18 update
Today's bm started off with some of yesterdays left behind bm not sure why it didn't come out yesterday but since it was hard it like yesterday hurt a little to start with then no pain during or after which I'm surprised by since the first bit was hard.

Question for everyone why does the tail end of yesterdays bm stay behind an sits waiting to become the head of the next bm?

Hello again! I am 4 weeks post Botox that didn’t work, unfortunately. Just returned from my CRS and we scheduled a second Botox for May. You have to wait three months to make sure all the Botox is out of your system before trying again, even if it didn’t work. He is going to give me more Botox this time. I only had 50cc in one side last time. I am hopeful my second time will work. In the meantime, I am starting treatment with a pelvic floor physical therapist. I’ve been once so far and she thinks she can help me. She was not able to touch my bottom b/c I’m in so much pain but she could feel the rectal spasms through my vagina, they are so bad. She also suggested seeing a Urogynecologist in addition to a CRS. These might be options for others out there. Just passing along the info. Also someone asked about Nifedipine. I was on Ditilizem but the CRS changed me to Nif after the Botox. Not sure any of the creams really help me. I am praying the PT and 2nd Botox will. Hope everyone feels better soon!

Missy, try including in your diet more fat, especially olive oil. I have noticed that when I eat more fat my stool feels softer and it doesn't start dry. Do you still have the feeling of incomplete evacuation? I think there is always stool in our colon, but they are not completely ready to come out. The colon still needs to extract water and bring it to the right consistency before the next batch. I think the harder tip is normal, since this portion left behind due to biological reasons of not being ready to come out, the colon keeps extracting water. Therefore, the first part is always drier than the last part. I am talking about normal stools without laxatives. Maybe you are not used to this and have forgotten die to the softeners use. Now, if the first part is extremely dry and hard then there is a problem, but do try to add more fat to your diet. I take two tablespoons of olive oil morning and night.

Canttakethis thanks for that info I'll look into it an ask my doctor about this the next time I see her. Hopefull123 yea I remember this from before I started the lax sachets I use to retear everytime from a dry hard bm tip then the rest would be really soft I'll start the olive oil once I've stopped the last lax sachet, if it is a problem then what would be causing that? If it's not just the norm?

I wish I knew what else could be causing the hard tip, but hopefully the fat increase will help. Also start your day with a,warm cup of water, you can add some lemon juice. That way you will be hydrating directly that part of the stool that will come out first the next morning.

I think the last bit of stool sits to low an isn't reached by water an the body takes water out of the bowel too maybe the fact that the bit of bm is sitting low so it's just drying out

Hi missy!! Don’t want to hi jack your post. Today is my 3rd day post Botox! I am in a lot of pain : ( it’s really really stinging/sore but in a different area, is that normal?

Hey BUM_UK I'm doing ok still not healed still pain with bms but not as bad as before I didn't get a fissurectomy just Botox my muscle is still tight sometimes when did your muscle calm down an did you aim to have type 3-4 bms on the Bristol chart?

It took quite a while to feel normal again but it’s worth keeping in mind I had the skin tag removal and fissurectomy too. Things started feeling fairly normal again during and after BMs around six weeks after the surgery. Completely normal at around nine weeks if I remember correctly.

I didn’t aim for a particular type of BM as such. Soft but formed and that’s basically what you’re d scribing with the 3-4 on the Bristol chart.

Thanks hopefull123 I'll try the olive oil within the next few days how do you stomach it? Thanks bum_uk good to hear that I still have time but I'm a little concerned because I didn't get a fissurectomy aswel aren't they ment to go together? Especially if it's an old fissure?
