thanks for your well wishes cheryl! it does suck to be so young and dealing with this...sometimes i feel like life is so unfair when all my friends are out having a great time and i'm eating prunes and drinking MOM. most of the time i'm so depressed and sore i don't leave the house except to go to work. But problems like this are unfair at any age!! it affects your life just as much as mine and it's so crappy. :(

i wouldn't worry about your husband divorcing you if you've been married 38 years! :) i worry about my boyfriend breaking up w/ me b/c of all this too...but he's been w/ me since the beginning and i think he's there for the long haul.
no, i don't have IBS. i guess i've always had constipation problems though, looking back on it. i just never thought anything about it.

As far as meds go I used to be so resistant to taking them because I thought somehow it made me weaker or was setting me up for addiction or would cause other side effects or health conditions. But when the pain was so bad that I thought I should kill myself to escape then I realized it was in my best interest to control the pain and if that meant taking 12 advil a day or something stronger, that is what I did and continue to do as necessary. My main doctor has always been an advocate for pain control stressing quality of life as long as I could control the consiptation which I did and do through Miralax, MOM and occasional Senna use.

I just had a thought--the musous might be caused by a stomach bug. I had an episode a few months ago where I passed a bit of mucous and then no more. I just focused on a high soluable fiber diet and was fine the next day.

How I wish I could take Ibuprofene :( My stupid stomach can take only Tylenol

I know what you mean, if I take Advil more than a few days, my stomach really bothers me. That is why I took the darvocet, but the Dr. doesn't think I need it anymore and they don't want to give me anymore. It annoys me because I really was very conservative about taking them and they did last me quite awhile. Tylenol doesn't seem to do anything.

I think mucus just indicates irritation. I remember when my son had that years ago as a child. The doc said not to worry about it. I really don't even remember what it looked like as that was long ago!!

Well, I just got back from my appointment and the doctor thought my rectum did look mucusy. He said that he thinks it is a normal healing process (for some people) from the hemmie removals. He says my fissure looks 50% healed. However, I am not that optimistic. I know from reading posts on the board that it takes 4 months to reach 40% healed - which I am almost there!
One bad thing about the appointment was I got a 3rd and unexpected banding done today. He said one hemmie was still there and needed a second banding. Thats ok though - I am glad I am getting all those hemmies out of there!!! I agree with Lecia - lets walk on all fours!
I agree with all you ladies - my hubby has to be sick of hearing about my butt. It pretty much took over our lives for the past year. I now keep my butt venting to the board alone. My husband is supportive and caring, but he will never know the pain that I have gone through - mentally and physically. Thats why I am so glad to have my internet buddies!
Jo - The Lilacs are not mine - I wish they were! I live in a desert and we dont have them here! :( They are my favorite flowers - very pretty and smell even nicer!
