OMG. I went to get a second opinion today and the second CRS said I DO still have a fissure and it's infected. Pretty much the complete opposite of what the other CRS said. Both want to do surgery, but one wants to do fissurectomy and one wants to do LIS. I'm gonna start using hydrogen peroxide and see what happens in the meanwhile.

Wow that's annoying every crs I've spoken to say they don't do fissurectomys because it just ups the chances of infection unless you have a ton of scar tissue preventing the fissure frim healing if that's the case then yep my crs would do a fissurectomy but they all go for an lis after Botox and would never do a fissurectomy on its own you would need Botox or lis with a fissurectomy in my belief to help with healing and so spasms

It's super frustrating, missy! I feel like they don't know what they are doing! I've also read bad things about the fissurectomy. :(
I think maybe I'll just live with the fissure or whatever it is. When it's not infected the pain really isn't that bad...
How are you feeling?

I'm doing well good days and Bad's days of I was you I'd put coconut oil on it it's antibacterial and healing have you tried Botox? Thats what really helped me I have more good days then bad days now and im booked for more because the surgeon thinks one more dose will get rid of it completely he also said as long an it's not sore don't worry about seeing blood that can just my you emotionally upset if it's not sore but you see blood think about the lack of pain and be greatful for your good days that's what I do I'm doing much better after Botox overall because I can set anywhere for any amount of time I think thats a pretty good sign

I'm so glad the Botox gave you relief! My regular CRS said my insurance wouldn't pay for it and that's why he wanted to do the other thing. I guess they have to cut me too because of the infection. I get confused with all the conflicting info he's giving me. I used coconut oil for about two months and it was the only thing that seemed to provide instant soothing. Then my CRS said to stop using it because it could deactivate the topical he prescribed me. I think the doctor that examined me today tore me more though because I'm quite sore now, so maybe I'll put some coconut oil on...

If I was you I wouldn't use anything they gave me because I've gone all natural over the last 3 months and coconut oil is amazing maybe if you had only been using coconut oil that whole time it mite of healed who knows but what I do know is doctors are know it alls and it's funny that sometimes with each visit they diagnose something different and prescribe a different treatment natural has everything we need also in taking magnesium citrate finally after seeing so many people on here telling me to try it and it's great it helps with not just hard stools but period cramps headaches sore muscles anxiety it's helped me alot also I'm thinking about trying vit B6 and vit b12 apparently it's great for helping with stress and regularity and hard stools I'm sorry your going through this but from the thousands of posts I've read I'd say 90% of chronic fissures need either Botox or lis I wouldn't get a rissurctomy unless the surgeon said I had major scar tissue that needed removing or else it would hinder the healing process a fissurectomy is just cutting out the cut, do you have medicinal honey? It's amazing for healing wounds

I'm scheduled for a fissurectomy and Botox. My crs said that it'll give the fissure a fresh start for healing.
