burning and pain before soft BM

Postby sean530 » 26 Feb 2019, 13:14

Hi all. Hope you guys are doing better. Kinda in this weird place and id love some input any iput at all. Life is on hold cause of this horrible disease. Been so depressed lately. So i hv been on movicol for 4 months and well.
though i have soft BMs there is always a feeling of tearing all around and a sort of burning sensation upon STARTING my bm. Just at the beginning. nothing during the bm but then also afterwards i get this soreness. I dont think its the fissure. and when i get the feeling of BM i also get pain BEFORE initinating the BM right inside the anus. apart from this i get this werid burning and felling like pins in my perineum (area bw anus and balls) whenevr i walk or sit likely cuz of friction. Like the hair down there irritating the skin. If i sit to log at a sofa the entire area feels raw. I think the skin of that area has gone too thin and im deathly afraid it may not be like before. Also i feel like the softer the bm, more the burning overall. If its hard then more pain initially but not so much burning. sometimes even farts burn.
I dont understand why any of this is happening. I want my life back so much :( :( :(

You need to consult your GP about this. There have been some reports of burning with Movicol/macrogol (try the forum's search facility), but everyone is different, and you should get a professional opinion. Hope you feel better soon.

No gps where i live. Went to the skin guy who said everything was fine down there skin wise. Going to see a surgeon this week hopefully too. But like the last one hes gonna say everything is fine till the worse happens and i relapse.
i just know that as soon as i even start weaning off movicol im dead. And cant use GTN cuz i think it caused a bad reaction. Im so lost

Hi Sean, did you try other softeners? Like Magnesium or Vitamin C? I understand you cannot ween yourself off them just yet but maybe there are others better suited for you.

magnesium like milk of magnesia? no idea about vit C and i doubt its available where i live and even if it is, the doctors wont have a clue to its use. But please tell if you know about other softeners i can use long term.
And you think my problem could be due to movicol?
Lastly thanks for you time and you too user dmcff

Magnesium as in citrate or oxide forms. You can get them from Amazon. Also vitamin c as ascorbic acid. You should take on empty stomach and it acts by drawing water in the colon thus softening the stool.
