LIS surgery Feb-11

Postby jenA97 » 12 Feb 2019, 22:33

Went in at 12:15 for my LIS on Monday Feb 11. Surgeon was behind and I did not get in the OR until 4:30. Finally got home and at at 8pm. I had to be intubated and my throat is still driving me crazy but otherwise Im doing well. I have been surviving on Aleve and Tylenol alternating and avoided taking the Percocet. I had a packing in my anus that came out today but I have not pooped yet. Now I am a normal poop every day person but I did not eat at all Monday until late so I think thats part of it. I expect to go tomorrow morning. So far I am pleased that the level of pain at its worst isn't too bad and at its best is basically none. Only about 30 hours out from surgery. He removed the sentinel pile which is nice and I did not expect but Im happy he did. My other 2 skin tags are still there but Im fine with that and he said he was not going to take those. I had a bath today because I was sore after the packing came out.
Tomorrow I want to have a BM. I have eaten enough today that I probably should have one in the morning. Hopefully it goes well. Fingers crossed. I will report back.

Congrats and thanks for coming on to share your story. It sounds like everything went, and is going, very well! I was advised to have several baths (or sitz baths) each day following surgery, and the warm water was very soothing. I'm looking forward to hearing more, as you go.

Its been almost a week and the pain from the surgery has been gone for like 4 days now. I'm still having to work hard to get my poops soft...its an absolute struggle for me. Still have to push when I go. I think im gonna have to bite the bullet and just introduce a fiber one cereal even though it makes me gassy...but it makes me go easy. I sort of feel like I did prior to the surgery...except the muscle definitely does not spasm much after...so I see where the fissure could absolutely heal if I can get my poops where they need to be. As it stands I have had one every day which I had to struggle some with and so I sit on an ice pack afterwards. I think its usually about 2 hours of pain after and then Im ok again. Its nowhere near the way the pain was over the course of my history with the fissure but its not like im pain free either. I think its going to be a process.

To me, it sounds like things are going really well. I believe that most people feel quite a bit better by the end of the three week mark, so it sounds like you're on track. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

Chachacha you've been around on this site for a while I was wondering if you have read anyone saying that a second dose of Botox needs to be done within a time frame of the first dose of Botox my first dose of Botox was a year ago and I've just been booked and now for my second dose for in two weeks time the hospital apologized and said that they were supposed to see me sooner but I was somehow missed and now I'm feeling like the second dose is too late to be as effective as it would be being administered closer to the first dose or maybe it won't be effective at all I'm just worrying because of the big time gap it's been a year since I had my first Botox and I dont have a professional to answer this question for me, please help if you can thanks kindly

I don't recall hearing anything like that, and I've not had Botox myself. They could have just been apologizing because they missed you, and the length of time between doses is irrelevant. Maybe you should start a new thread and see if someone who has had the treatment knows more. Good luck!

Can I start a main tread? There's no main tread for people wanting to discuss Botox there's a surgery tread and the general thread Botox isn't really either of them
