Re: Doctor frustration

I'm going to have to take swift action. The damn fissure is back. Glass shards and lots of blood this morning, now that searing pain starts. It's a long holiday weekend in Canada, I can't do anything about treatment until next week.

I haven't been right down there since the colonoscopy.

Zinc Oxide cream for now? How do I start treating this evil on my own?

Sorry to hear that the fissure is back. It sounds really awful. Zinc oxide should help, as well as taking miralax daily, warm sitz baths after a BM and plenty of water to keep BMs soft. If zinc oxide isn't doing much maybe Vaseline before a BM will help.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

thank you all such nice people here

I have a big lump of skin on the outside I assume that’s the skin tag noted from my colonoscopy report. Not very tender to touch it. The pain is coming from inside it’s the worst I’ve ever had

Would going to the emergency room be an option for you? 10/10 pain really sounds like an emergency situation.

I’ve gone to the ER a few times in the last year. They immediately pull up my medical history, and tell me to go see my family doctor

Last time I was discharged with an Advil

I assume they don’t believe me.

:smilyhug: to you. ER doctors are probably looking for the best way to get patients out of there so they tell you to go see your doctor. I think it would be best to go private at this point. Let me know if you need help looking up specialists and such. I'm always happy to help out.

Not yet it’s a holiday in Canada so can’t do anything about it until tomorrow

My plan is to look into going private as per Patience’s suggestion

I’m also going to try to get an appointment with the gastroenterologist that did my recent colonoscopy and see if she will refer me to a proper CRS. There is a fissure/rectal clinic at one of the local hospitals but I need a referral to see them.

Sounds like you have a plan. Surely the rectal clinic will know what they are doing??!! And why on earth would you not be referred considering your situation it should be a no brainer. I wish you luck. I hope you’re not in too much pain today. Keep us all updated on how you get on.
