Well I'm happy your fissure has healed that's great and from just one dose of Botox! Can you please let me know how you go on the medication I'm seriously considering it it's actually one the doctor recommended to me a year ago. 36hrs till I get my Botox :affraid: I'm scared I'll be worse off afterwards which was the same fear i had with the first lot of Botox also scared of being super swollen for 1-2 weeks afterwards.

I was referred to a psychiatrist who prescribed the medicine for me after taking my full medical history.

You shouldn't have too much swelling if they're not doing an internal exam this time. Try and think of how you'll feel better and potentially be healed after this round.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

I take miralax and eat prunes. I try to eat more vegetables and nuts with my meals and don't supplement with fiber.

14hrs to go I keep thinking what if I shouldn't do this what if I just make things worse because at the moment I have no pain during the day and I can sit and everything with no discomfort but during bms it feels like I'm passing glass there's pain or discomfort everytime and blood most days I don't want to pass glass everyday so I guess I have to continue this healing journey with botox tomorrow

Good luck missy.
You are well prepared for it to be worse before it gets better, so just keep that in mind for the first couple of weeks.
Take movicol, drink plenty, don’t overdo the fibre and plenty of sitz baths/ normal baths should see you through.

We are all routing for you.

Good luck Missy, have a good sleep tonight. I’ll think of you tomorrow morning so come back and update us here! There is a 3hr time difference so I think by the time I’m up, you’re prob done with the Botox already.

I had botox just over a year ago and that, combined with diltiazem cream, gave me a wonderful, fissure-free year. Unfortunately, after a bad bout of constipation I've found myself with a fissure once more. I've immediately gone back on the laxido and ointment in the hopes that I can avoid this turning chronic else it may be more botox for me too. It's worth asking your consultant for some diltiazem cream to help the healing after botox as it really did make a difference for me when I was experiencing irritation and mild pain as it was wearing off. My GP couldn't prescribe (I think it has to come from a specialist) it so make sure you speak to your consultant when you get the chance. Good luck with your botox and I hope you recover soon!

Thank you so so much everyone your support brings tears to my eyes I'm so grateful for all of you beautiful people my fissure family :%`+: it's 8am here so I'll be going to the hospital in 2 hours just going to have a hot water to replace my morning coffee have a shower an then wait to leave. Kay i thought about this last week so I went and got a jar I'll use it once the swelling goes down but I'll ask the surgeon his opinion on using it after Botox first. I hope you guys all have a great day I'll report back soon.
 please work this time.
