Jis76,

Lots of people have rushed to their CRS to have a post LIS bumped checked and it turned out to be OK.... But I can imagine it's a bummer ! Why not have it checked out today ? Did you take antibiotics post-op ?

I am on Day 4- things are improving! The incision looks good and my BMs have been a breeze. That being said it is surgery and I am moving around slower than usual and trying to take it easy in general...

Keep us posted on the bump! Have it checked ASAP so you can have peace of mind.

1 week + 1 day Post LIS

And just like that... the lump is gone... that was quick! Pain is down too post bm, stinging still, but very little pain if any at all. Things are getting a little better every day!

BM are what I would call normal again. They are larger in diameter, and smooth. I think the benefiber is helping with the consistency.

Still have blood in gauze, but it seems to be very slowly reducing.

Swimming in a pool in ocean this week. Only issue I have is after I'm done I need to get out, dry off and change right away.

Observation: So I've trained my body to go first thing in the am, but I'm not getting much urgency to go anymore. I just drink a ton of water, sit and it happens. I use to have coffee first thing in the morning, and then I would be running to the toilet at some point barely able to hold it. Right now my body isn't given much of a signal to go.

1 week + 2 days post LIS

No pain on bm, no stinging.... I feel cured! This is amazing. So grateful to my surgeon

Still a bit of blood on gauze, so will continue to use. Also continiung to take sitz bath as precaution post bm for now. Just walking for exercise at the moment... which definitely seems to be helping.

I dont want to jinx anything, but as of this moment I couldn't be happier that I had this done. I know I will need to remain vigilant with my diet, fiber and stool softeners forever. The fact that I feel no pain, and not like I am going to break back open on the next bm is great.

I'm gonna slow down on these diary posts unless there are setbacks.

2 week update.

Thanks for all the encouraging words above!

Things are still going pretty well. Not using the gauze anymore, no more blood. I have a bit of pain every once and while. Its like a reminder that there are still problems down there. This pain is like a 1 out of 10 and passes quickly (seconds).

Overall very pleased. I continue to sitz bath 2x times a day, take stool softener (miralax), and fiber supplements (benefiber). I'm watching my diet, but not finding anything that is causing problems... even had some ice cream then other night. Bms are better than they've been in a decade!

Trying to keep to the am bm schedule and still jumping right in the bath, but I'm thinking by next week I wont need that. I can tolerate the bidet again, which helps.

Despite no pain, or blood, I can tell things are still recovering, and trying not to fall into a false sense of security. Staying vigilant to keep recovering!

Hope everyone out there continues the healing!
