Also MyBumHasHurt how many days have you been using the Vaseline? How long have you had your fissure for? And does you fissure heal an retear or has it always been open?

Hi all. I only signed up for this forum after trying Bottom Gun's Vaseline method and getting relief. I have been watching this forum for a few years. I just wanted to let this forum know it's working for me. My fissure happened in 2013 and has never healed until now. I am on my 11th day now. It took four days for me to finally to feel like my fissure was healing.
For the first time in years I don't have to blot myself after a bm.
At the start of this I took baths to get clean before using the Vaseline. I just follow the steps Bottom Gun described. Every day is now a blessing.
I carry a small tube of petroleum jelly in my purse for use when I'm not home. I intend to go the whole four weeks.

Thats great MyBumHasHurt i would recommend using it for no less then 6wks an if i give it a go I'd use it daily for 3months. Over the counter fissure cream like rectogesic or diltizem are daily for 3months so I'd follow that strategy with the Vaseline. Can you please update us at like the 2 or 3 - 6 - 12 month mark so we can see if it works long term please

So glad this is helping. I did't think about taking baths to clean before applying the vaseline, Maybe that helped MyBumHasHurt to get quicker results. Did you use the tub more than once a day or every time you applied the vaseline? That wiuld be a lot of baths. Keep going!

I took a tub bath once a day and used my sitz bath after I had a bm. I've applied the Vaseline at least once an hour. I've been working from home lately so that wasn't a problem. I am so glad that this is working.
