Botox experiences - Help!

Postby FissureSupport » 19 Jun 2022, 06:48

I had botox injections 6 days ago and internal skin tag removal. After having a bowel movement each morning, I am getting a horrendous stinging pain for around 3-4 hours. At the moment the pain feels worse than before the surgery. I am taking movicol to keep stools soft.

The thing which is bothering me the most is that I am experiencing anal leakage which isn't great.

Just wondered if anyone has had a smiliar experience?

I have not had skin tag removal but I imagine the pain is from the wound getting irritated. You can ask your surgeon if it's ok to use a barrier like Vaseline before a BM to protect the area from getting irritated.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

You are correct it is from the wound getting irritated. I've had them removed twice. My major roadbloack the first time in being healed (that I was unaware of at the time) was the stress I was under at work which was behind the whole thing. Once I quit that job and a few years later decided to do the LIS, I was home free.
Fissure June 2014 - Oct 2020
Botox, skin tag removed - Feb 2015
Levator Ani Sep 2014 - Feb 2016 (left job, cured!)
LIS, skin tags removed - Oct 2020
Fissure 100% healed - Nov 2020
Still healed as of March 2024

Thanks for the reply Rich. It has now been 3 weeks since the surgery and I'm still bleeding a little after a bm but the pain is settling. Can I ask how long it took you to recover after the botox injections and skin tag removal?

Did you experience any leakage at all? It is only a little and I'm not sure whether it has been caused by the botox or skin tag removal
