Just wanted to update everyone on my progress. I had Botox for my fissure, a fistula opened up and 3 skin tags removed on the 27th of March and I am 3 weeks post-op today. I am doing wonderful. The pain is gone!!!!! I am healing wonderfully. I can not even tell anything has taken place---down there---until I have to clean up after a bm.
My fissue was cause by chronic diarrhea and the only problem I am having is I cannot seem to get the diarrhea to stop. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I was taking citrucel which made the diarrhea less watery but very slippery, and with the Botox having my interior sphincter muscle Very relaxed, caused some trouble with incontinence.:oops: So I have stopped takeing the citrucel and am just eating like I always have.
If I am going to go anywhere for any length of time I have to not eat and take 2 Immodium tablet.
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am so happy that you are doing so well! I remember when you first started posting you were pretty miserable. I am so encouraged when I hear how well others are doing and I am glad you have some relief from the pain now.
The issue with the incontinence is a drag but I am sure it is preferable to the pain and it will improve. I was trying to think of what might help firm up your stools. Have you tried bananas? I would also recommend trying psyllium and acidopholis together. I have read some good results for people with either diarrhea and constipation when they use these two together. I think the fiber will give the liquid something to form to so it will firm it up a bit. The acidopholis helps to maintain a proper balance of bacteria in there which aids in proper digestion and elimination.
I hate to sound like a commercial but I have had pretty good luck with Andrew Lessman's Fibermucil. I got if from the HSN.com website but he does have his own website too if you google him.
So glad you hear you are doing great-that brings a smile to my face!:D

Have you googled chronic diarrhea for treatment? I will as soon as I get time (headed for work now!).

There may be an underlying cause for chronic diarrhea, if you have it for more than 3-4 weeks in a row. I know you hate to hear this, but if it *is* chronic, you have got to get it under control by seeing your GP and finding out what is causing it.
Sounds like a pat answer, but it's the best I can come up with, based on what i read about chronic diarrhea.

Thank you so much for the information. It was very interesting to read. I take a lot of antacids and I saw that they can cause diarrhea. I didn't know that. I will try to lay off of them for awhile and see if that helps any. I have had these episodes for years. I have had a colonostomy, stool tests, barium enema, ultrasound, and some type of nuclear medicene test on my gallbladder. Whew!!! that was a mouthfull. All of those test came back normal, which is good news, but I still have no answers.

I would like to ask yall one more question. I am leaving on Thursday to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. I was wondering if any of you have asked your doctor if it was okay to swim in the ocean or a pool with chlorine? I am a worry wart, but was wondering if I did would it cause concern for infection.I guess I didn't explain that I was 3-weeks post surgery yesterday. I would like any input that you guys may have on this.

What, you're not taking us with you?
The chlorine may sting the fissure a little, but probably not cause any infection, since that's the purpose of the chlorine, anyway -- to prevent bacteria from developing in the pool. I doubt it would even sting.
Just don't do any "butt bounces" off the diving board!

How fun! I don't know the answer to the question but wanted to wish you a great trip! I would think by the time you go you will be pretty much healed up so it shouldn't be a problem.
