My dear baby-Lecia :( :( :( , I needed some time to sort the things out in my head before posting Image - I just can't believe this - this is not happening Image :( Image .... Image How is it possible if they removed the
whole column - this just does not make any sense in any way, shape or form :pale: Image !?! Either the CRS did lousy job or there is something else going on - I pray to God that your local CRS gets some celestial enlightenment and finds some firkin answers - this is just crazy - I am so mad and sad at the same time- still can't collect my thoughts correctly Image :( Image :( ....
I am so sorry buddy Image , I deeply understand all of your feelings - you know that Image - I just wish I have a solution for you and that life is fair ... I guess we have to be strong and prove it otherwise - you can do it buddy - you went through so much so far - you will get rid of those 2 "bumps" and try not to carry anything ever - what a heck - maybe you are born to be a princess Image - so be one baby Image Image Image !!! I agree with Gareth - try to wait with "ultimate " solution - it probably has it's own drawbacks and pain that goes with it - I think BG once mentioned a friend who had it for a while Image .
Hang in there sweetie - it sounds so easy , I know Image - but you have to - for you, for your family and of course for all of us here that love you so much :sprinkleheart:

Thank you all for your precious friendship and reaching out to me during this downturn. I am just as astounded as you all are. This just blows my mind that they could remove the column and I am still having problems.

I developed another thrombosis and went to the ER yesterday. The doctor thinks it could be an abscess brewing but did not want to prescribe antibiotics because that would just allow it to smolder without coming to a head where it can be removed. I hope I can get in to see my regular CRS. He needs to clear his vacations with me before he goes anywhere or we will have to go together!

I am starting to wonder if I have some kind of clotting disorder. The backs of my calves feels so heavy and tight when I stand up. I have varicosities behind my knees that just developed this last year. Maybe from inactivity? My blood pressure has always run a little higher than what you would expect for my age and size (probably because I have one kidney) but it isn't "high" per se. I runs 123/74. I started taking baby aspirin a few days ago and will ask my doctor to do some blood work to check on the PTT and ATT clotting factors. I hate that I have to be the one to try to figure all this stuff out for doctors but I guess I am the one that has the most to lose if we don't.

I am taking every supplement that has potential to help strengthen capillaries and improve circulation. I have been doing some research on ostomies-Thanks Gareth for the links. It sounds dreadful but in a way it gives me a little bit of hope that if all else fails I can go that route.

Thank you all for being here for me.

Lecia,
Sorry about the trip to the ER, they are never fun. :(
Maybe you do have a clotting issue. I think it would be smart to check you PT/PTT/INR levels. Maybe they can put you on an aspirn a day or some coumadin.
Thanks for keeping us updated Lecia. You are always in my thoughts and prayers sweetie! :'\;redbud:

Hi Lecia,
Sorry to hear about the ER. What a week! Hopefully, the baby asprin will do the trick.
I personally would start taking the antibiotics before the abscess erupts (if it is indeed there). If you catch them early they can heal without surgery. My one in December did and so did the one I was starting to get post-LIS. I don't know about you, but I can sure tell when I am getting an abscess, and I have found that if I catch it in week or so, then it does heal with the antibiotics.
Unrelated: speaking of antibiotics, I noticed when buying my cat's flea meds at 1800petmeds.com, that one can buy Flagyl for pets with UC. I was surprised that is comes in the usual doses of 250mg and 500mg. Weird, huh?

hi lecia,
sorry you had such a trying weekend!!!!!
i wish you could see my CRS here in Virginia - Dr. Thomas Wright - and get a second/third opinion. I wonder what he would advise with your "butt" history.
your bp sounds just like mine. i am usually around 120/70 which for me is good :-)
anyway, i am sending you lots of healing hugs and wishes and may this upcoming week be a better one with resolutions and solutions all around.

Hi Lecia,
I am so sorry for all your pain. I wish you did not have to go thru this. I can't believe this is happening you are doing everyhting right and you do not strain your self. I would get blood work done get the PT/PTT/INR checked like Jen said, but I would get all levels checked, like your CBC, CMP, and BMP. Your platelets are what helps with the clotting so ask your doctor about this. My mother has ITP and her platelets went down to a dangerous level of 2000 so she bruised real easy. Let us know when you get to your CRS. I wish there was comething I could do for you.

Keep your chin up and I am glad the other lump turned out to be nothing!
Take Care,
Patty
