LIS #3 Report

Postby Guest » 15 Jun 2008, 19:32

First of all....Happy Father's Day to all of you dad's out there!! Hope you all had a great one!

So, I had LIS #3 on Thursday. Another round of shots in the rear - delightful! And, I did it again with no anesthesia. Had a pretty rough 5 hours or so. Percocet did nothing for me, so I just went for the Motrin and managed to get to sleep for the night. Friday, I woke up, extremely sore and scared to death to have a bm. So scared that I must of scared my poop away for the day! Image Saturday was a real joy. I ended up going to the bathroom not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 times!! Holy smokes!! The only good thing, was I had absolutely no pain from the fissure. My biggest issue this time was bruising. My whole butt is purple, one of my skin tags was 3x the size and the other one like a purple bubble. Not sure if it's a hemmie (doesn't hurt like one) or just severe bruising from the injections.
So, I iced my butt last night and this morning things were feeling a little better, not so swollen...plus, I only went once today - thank God!

I'm hoping and praying that this is it, however, I can't help but be a little skeptical - can you blame me Image ? My CRS cut the other side this time too, so maybe that will help. Only time will tell.

Dear Nancy,
Hope the bruising feels better very soon, and that you will never have you go through this again...
I wish you a speedy recovery

I know it is hard to get your hopes up, isn't it? But it sounds like you are noticing improvement already and maybe having both sides done will really help this time.

Hang in there-you know what they say-third time's the charm!

Nancy - best of luck in your recovery and may this third LIS really solve all of your problems once and for all !!! I am surprised that second LIS was not done on opposite side - they told me that it is how it is done if sec. one is needed. But, now you have it finally and hopefully it will do the job - yes, I also know how at one point one just stops believing that anything is a solution : ((, but we have to continue trying - what else is left ...
All the best ! :'\;redbud:

Thanks for all of your thoughts and wishes!

The bruising is much better and the swelling has gone down, but I'm still feeling something funky on the right side. Not sure it is from where the muscle is cut or if it's a small hemmie.

My only other issue is that I can't seem to empty my bowels in one sitting! I would think that things would sllip on out, but that's not the case. Everything is soft, but just not easily coming out. Does this sound strange to anyone? This happened the last time, but seemed to correct itself. Any thoughts?

Incomplete evacuation is not unusual after an LIS. A year and a half out, I still rarely completely evacuate after one sitting. But it is not a big hassle, considering the relief I finally got.
3-5 weeks out from my LIS, I could sense something like a "pad" down there, I always assumed it was the incision area.

I have it other way around  . Immediately after the LIS I would go to poop and all will come out nice with beautifully loose sphincter - it would be done in a sec. without any pain.
Now that my sphincter is tighter it goes out slower and in 2 fazes ( I do not jump off immediately after the first wave since I know that other one will come - so now it is like before the LIS for me in that regard).
I miss my "relaxed" days Image
