My Honest opinion Jen ?
I think you have a great doctor for starters !
You have a busy future ahead and have suffered for too long, I know that much !
This setback you had, was this when you decreased the nitro ??
Did you do the test with the nitro to see if things felt any different?? Maybe you could stop the nitro now and see how things feel over the next couple of days Image
It’s only natural to have these doubts and to be scared, i am scared too as i dont really know what they are going to do when i am under ! I just consent to whatever, A risk I am willing to take ! Image
I am thinking of you Jen, I know you have the strength to make the right decision for you and your future Image

jen - i never felt a bit of difference after either LIS. nothing changed at all and both times i went right back to feeling the same pain i always had. so all in all it was pretty pointless for me to have those 2 surgeries. i hope trying something new works for me!
all that said, i think you have nothing to lose by having LIS. the whole point is to make you looser down there, so it can't hurt. i don't know why it didn't work for me, i seriously think i'm a freak of nature, although i've talked to lots of other people who it didn't work for...of all those people (and me) there were no negative side effects though. i've NEVER slipped a fart without realizing it, and i've never had any problem holding BMs in. so i'd say go for it, can't hurt!

I can "hear" you all - I ma trying to escape colonoscopy - LOL, what
more I need to say. My fissured brain forgot that I had a CAT scan of the whole abdomen last August Image Image , so I don't even know if colonoscopy is necessary !!!!???? Needles to say I am on the phone since early morning sending faxes and all :flush:
Somebody just shoot me - PLEASE !!!!! Image
Jen - every procedure has a risk : ( - you know that the best Image. You
almost got infected by deadly virus las year Image. Farting is the least that one can have as a side-effect LOL, and still, it is not likely to happen. Every CRS has different approach, skin tags are one of the examples Image. BUT, your CRS is truly a good doctor all around. Stick with him no matter what you decide. I had my LIS to make sure I do not open my fissure in the future and it opened, but- it still can't be even compared with the pain I had before the LIS. If I did not have it, I would be now completely incapacitated :( . Only you can make this decision buddy Image - what you want to deal with and what not.
Best of luck with everything !!!!

Jen
I see you are not as sure about the LIS as you have been before. It is only you who can decide what to do... To help yourself maybe you should try to remember why you wanted to do it in the first place. Pregnancy...retearing, etc.
I completely understand what you say, and that you are scared...I guess I will be as well.
Since I cannot give a good advice, it'll have to do with a Image
Corsica
What is a skin tag?

A skin tag is a remnant from an anal wound such as a hemorrhoid or it could be a sentinel pile which forms to protect the fissure. They can be quite painful but many people have anal tags that don't even bother them.

I understand you don't want the surgery, Jen. Who would? But what if you cancel it and you get in pain again and have to go through the whole rigamaroll again?

I would be nervous about the pre-cleansing part of the colonoscopy. I know when I had diarrhea my butt got so sore from pooping so much but since there won't be much to clean after you poop it shouldn't get irritated. I need to have one too though mine isn't scheduled. I think considering we have so many butt issues it would be good to do the scope to see if there is anything else that could be contributing.

Pre-cleansing is my term LOL! That means that I started with liquid diet today , so tomorrow there will be very little to go out once I start G thing ! I got some kind that is called Halfgolightly LOL since it is a half of original G thing. It combines some pills that I have to take at noon and than I will start with G at 6 pm (2 liters of it) and would be done with it all before the midnight - pooping too, according to instructions - I pray to God it will be that way !!!! This HG has also flavoring (???), it might as well make it even more gross - but I will know that tomorrow (ugh....gulp..puke). Although I probably will be off the forum than : ((.

Fiss,
I think the flavoring is not good. I tried it once and it was gross. The better option is to suck on a jolly rancher after you drink some. It was much better for me that way.
Hoping you are feeling good today and not too weak from not eating!
Thinking of you,
