acacia fiber

Postby buttgirl » 24 Apr 2008, 13:23

so I'm looking for ways to keep my fiber intake at a constant high. My dr recommends 30 grams a day and tis is really hard. i find myself eating more just so thta I can get the requisite amount of fiber. This has caused some problems, minor but irritating nevertheless.
So I am wondering if anyone has eve taken this fiber. There are 6 grams of fiber per tablespoon and it is supposed to be gentle on the tummy.

You cant use any of the Cereals or fiber one bars? They have high outputs. Or does that scratch?
Flaxseed oil?
I never heard of this one

the grains are scratchy, though that is getting more tolerable as I am healing. Many grains (especially bran) have a lot of insoluable fiber and I am looking for soluable fiber, something to draw water into the stool and keep it soft.
Way ahead of you on the flax. I took it even before the rear problems and have upped my dose since.

They reccomend that for IBS so I would assume it should be gentle on the stomach.
So you ate good prior to the butt thing?

tried it for a long while, really made me bloat and made my IBS worse. I use fiber-sure, seems to be much better.

I just ran across this subject thread. I have been using acacia powder for many months now and am really not sure if it does anything or not. I am also using benefiber and metamucil now.

i love acai - not sure if it is the same of acacia powder - but it is found in smoothies and sorbet like treats.
acai berry is a very amazing antioxidant and helps with a lot of stuff - including digestion.
