Lars - I am sooo sorry to hear that you had a setback :( ! It is so frustrating when it happens , we all went through those periods many, many times and we certainly completely understand and know how you feel Image Image !!! Sometimes it even seems worse to have good days at all since "falling back" is than double whammy - you get a glimpse of pain free life and all the goodies it brings, just to have your face pushed back down into the mud again Image !!!!!
The fact that you had a god days is very promising sign though , since it shows that healing IS happening and IS possible. Setback are just inevitable to occur during recovery
period, so please try not to loose hope so easily - there is absolutely no reason for you to do that . Yo are not even 12 weeks post op Lars- really too early to give up buddy Image
I used chamomile outside - but it does not matter. Chamomile has anti- inflammatory properties and as any agent of that sort will help regardless where it is applied . Same as with those anti-inflammatory pain sport creams . You rub them on the skin although your bone or tendon is hurting - right ??? So, I still stand firm by my dear herbal remedy LOL - PLEASE sit in chamomile sitz-bath 20 min before you go to sleep - is it really too much trouble Image. If you have natural store near you, buy some white oak tincture and add 2 full droppers in the you plastic basin - do you want me to send Corsi to your place to make sure you sit in one 4 times a day LOL ; ))) ????
Did you try aloe gel? Also, how is your poop - firm, medium, soft, VERY soft ??? How many times you go to poop ? Was there any changes in diet or supplements before this setback happened ? Let us know so we can try to get to the root of what caused your setback ! And remember - now you are NOT starting from the beginning !!! Getting better will go now faster than just 2 weeks ago !!!! You will see ! Just make it medium soft, take those sitz-baths and let us know how are you doing !
All the best Image !!!!

I am sorry about the setback Lars. Try to remember that there are setbacks on the way to recovery. This was true in my case too.
I don't know if you have read some of my other posts, but the Benefiber has helped me greatly. It is worth a shot to try.
I hope you start feeling better!

It sounds like you are in the same predicament that a lot of us are in. Take Fissy's advice.

Well folks. Back from my 6 weeks check up after the surgery.
My fissure is now "only" 1 centimeter long and 0,5 centimeter wide. It was 2 centimeter before surgery.
It has healed inside 1 centimeter in 6 weeks time!!!
My CRS is extremlly satisfied with the result so far :) In 6-8 weeks the fissure should heal complety he says. A ulcer that big needs far more time than a LIS recovery. So everything goes as it should with the healing. It could not have been better :) There is also very little to none inflammation in the area and that should make the healing faster also. Bleeding and discarge is normal when that big ulcer heals.
I am very happy to hear this. Was afraid that it wasn`t healing inside but it has healed a lot!!!
